Yes, we get it. Ryan Day couldn’t do OSU justice against Michigan. But if we keep that aside, can we all collectively agree that OSU has turned into the golden egg-laying geese for the NFL WR depth? We saw Marvin Harrison Jr. go for the No.4 overall pick last draft. Back in 2023, Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the top-drafted wide receiver. The Seahawks picked up that guy. Garrett Wilson for the Jets? OSU is handing out WR like Walmart throwing out deals for Black Friday. In the 2025 draft, we will get another gem coming out of OSU, WR Emeka Egbuka. This senior wideout is making quite the noise, and he is projected to fill in the shoes of a $39.4 million Bills WR.
Back on ESPN First Draft, Field Yates makes his case clear on Emeka and his potential to be the No.4 WR prospect. “I feel really good about wide receiver for being Emeka Egbuka as long as he runs somewhere in the 4-4,” Yates mentioned. 60 receptions along with 9 touchdowns and over 700 yards in 12 games. While some fans might think these stats are not satisfactory, you still have to keep in mind that he still had a massive impact on the OSU offense. Most importantly, he shines when it comes to YAC (Yards After Catch). Egbuka is so slippery that it is a pure headache for defenders to tackle him down. Not only that. He does amazing on deep route runs as well.

The chances of him picking up the mantle after Bills’ WR Amari Cooper becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2025 are pretty high, as per Yates. The Bills bringing in Cooper through a trade is a big gamble. In the last few games, the team has managed to give out 40-plus points (on offense) back-to-back. While they did win against the Lions, more WR strength never hurts, right? But will it work out?
And Cooper’s contract won’t even hurt the Bills’ cap. They have to pay Cooper around $800,000 after 6 weeks. Going into 2025, Bills will have a chance to rethink the deal as Cooper will become a free agent and this perfectly opens up the door to Emeka running in. “I feel like he’s been on the NFL radar so long that people forget just how good he is,” was what Jacob Infante had pointed out while talking about Emeka being on the radar of multiple NFC division teams.
But then again, remember that all of this is based on the Mock Draft by Yates. There is still another NFL giant who might end up taking Emeka for themselves, and this could cause some problems for the Bills.

Carolina Panthers hunting for new talent
Let’s be real here. The Panthers need help on the catching front. Of course, the Panthers, derided by many in the media as a failed organization, fumbled the whole Bryce Young thing. They started him, then benched him, and then started him again. The benching after the first set of the games became a hot topic; even college GOAT Nick Saban pitched in, highlighting Young’s mental fortitude. We got to see that when Young returned as the starter. That uptick in his game may not be reflected from Carolina’s W-L record, but he almost got the better of two giants: Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
Having said that, what Young is missing is some good pass-catchers. Being on an 11-loss run, the only way the Panthers can fix this issue is by grabbing Emeka.
“He is going to be where his quarterback needs him to be,” was what scout Matt Holder had mentioned on his scouting report for Emeka. But then again, there is a catch. There is a high chance that Emeka won’t be a draft pick but rather a trade-down or up for the Panthers.
