Jeremiah Smith helps Ryan Day’s Ohio State secure season-opening victory
Ohio State’s new wide receiver helped the team win their season opener. Smith made his debut a memorable one with his impressive performance. ESPN reported head coach Ryan Day’s statement on Smith’s performance: “Sometimes you look at him, you don’t even think he’s quite human. He’s built differently.” Just after one game, Smith is showing signs of being the next starting receiver. Until this year, the Buckeyes have produced top talents like Garrett Wilson and a few more. All of these players were first-round NFL picks. But Smith is a different player, who stood out and became the first Ohio State freshman in 26 years to score two touchdowns in his debut. The wide receiver ended his debut with six catches for 92 yards.
