Home/College Football

On one hand, you got the “normal” fans and on the other hand you got those “fringe” fans. Take a seat cause we have a lot to talk about. How will you explain the Buckeyes Nation? Fox Sports released an interesting article back in 2015 talking about the Bucks. “The Ten Dumbest Fan Bases in America: #3 Ohio State,” Fox Sports noted and, while this might seem harsh, the events that unfolded 9 years after the release of that article point in a different direction. “Ashamed to be a Buckeye.” “Can Ryan Day be sued?” “Done with Ohio State if Day is still the coach!” Despite being at the cusp of the playoffs, this was how the fans took the Michigan loss. Now, we don’t blame them. 4th consecutive loss and that too to a team that is just a hollow shell of its former self, does hurt—but allowing this to misguide your emotions and ask the HC to “off” himself?

As we said, “normal” fans vs “fringe” fans. This time an actual Bucks superfan exposed the person behind the death threats that were pushed towards Ryan Day after the Michigan loss. “It was this POS Ohio State fan who said it. He also tweeted that there would be pitchforks & fire at Ryan Day’s door when he returned home if he lost the National Championship game. What a loser. Now he’s back on the Ryan Day train,” Carrie Lynn posted on X while sharing screenshots of B1G_Ryan’s posts. Like seriously? Ask Ryan Day to “take some advice from father”? To have to be psychotic to post something like this online.

And to think that all of this was over a “loss” is wild. Then this person goes on to glaze Day after the Bucks made a solid 180 in January with wins over SEC Giants, the Ducks, and finally ND. “Ryan Day really dropped his nuts against all odds. I am still mostly stunned by the complete night and day turnaround in December and January, it’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen from one of my teams,” B1G_Ryan had written back on January 22nd.

Yeah, ask your HC to k*ll himself first and then jump on the bandwagon of calling OSU the greatest team ever. It’s funny that these are the same type of people who bring down the entire fanbase altogether. Like, we all kind of always knew that Bucks fans were a bit crazy but after the UM game, that POV completely shifted and everyone called out the Buckeyes Nation as psychotic or “out of their minds”

Even former Bama HC Nick Saban pointed out, “These Ohio State fans have got a psychotic obsession with Michigan.” Because of people like these, fans like Carrie Lynn and others get their names dragged through the mud. And that ain’t all. This entire scenario became so ugly that even Ryan Day’s wife, Nina Day, almost gave up.

A rollercoaster ride for Ryan Day

What’s your perspective on:

Are Ohio State fans justified in their extreme reactions, or have they crossed the line?

Have an interesting take?

“The time between the Michigan game and the Tennessee game was as low and dark as you could possibly imagine,” Nina pointed out. From death threats on X to direct phone calls and a flurry of texts, belittling Day was all Nina could see. He-k things got so bad that people even posted Ryan Day’s address on social media sites.

And imagine this escalating towards the kids? Yeah, Nina pointed out that RJ, their 16 y/o son, was also bombarded with death threats. Ryan Day had to resort to hiring a team of private security guards for his home to protect his family. “It got to a point where, ‘What are we doing here?’” Nina pointed out.

“Can the Bucks with the natty?” wasn’t the question anymore. “Are we even safe in our home?” was.

It’s a positive sign that people are finally coming out and exposing such lunatic fans on social media. However, we would also like to advise you not to become like them and bombard them with death threats. Be the better person. Be the “normal” fan.
