Buckle up, folks! The most notorious man in college football, Connor Stalions, is back again. The ex-Michigan Wolverines staffer’s accusation episode after the sign-stealing incident now seems to be an old chapter. Stalions now thought of giving Ohio State Buckeyes HC Ryan Day a tough time with his words. Sherrone Moore’s Wolverines landed a fresh 10-13 L on Day’s squad on Friday, November 29. While Stalions was still supposed to be bitter with Michigan, he became the Wolverines’ biggest hypeman roasting Day and his QB Will Howard. Now will this bring the HC’s coaching tenure to a halt? The Ohio State legend gave a clear picture.

Buckeyes fans thought that finally, the time came for Day to shine after a rough patch. But Moore’s boys shocked Ohio State by entering The ‘Shoe and taking down the Buckeyes 13-10, making Day and Co.’s lose streak to four games. The Buckeyes are now 1-4 against Michigan. While it’s obvious for Moore to throw a party, looks like he will have his ex-teammate by his side during this celebration. That’s when the Stalions made his grand entry. On November 30, a day later, the ex-Michigan staffer posted a selfie in front of a TV screen that showed Day’s clip from the game. It read, “Hi friends! They said I wasn’t allowed in Columbus this year 😕. Just checking in on my buddy Ryan. Everything good???”

Well, that’s true. The Buckeyes had banned Stalions from getting inside the stadium in Columbus. So what? He enjoyed every part of “The Game” at a restaurant with the amazing company of the ex-Wolverines offensive tackle, Trent Jones. That’s how Stalions proved his loyalty strong with Michigan even after the sign-stealing scandal. Well, his firing cheap shots at Day did not stop at trolling the HC. His next target was the Buckeyes QB Howard.

The signal-caller came up with one touchdown even though he promised “I’ll go for 3 today if I can.” Stalions could not stop himself from passing a sarcastic remark, “Hi Tate, they sure went for 3 quite a bit. At least they stuck to the game-plan 🤷🏻‍♂️.” All these just made the glass on which Day is walking even thinner.

Ryan Day finds support amidst the chaos

The fans gave Day the last chance in their face-off against Michigan. But poor Day! He failed to protect the Buckeyes from Michigan’s wrath. So, it’s high time that Ohio State pulls the trigger this year as the Columbus Dispatch analyst Austin Cutright asked the program to buckle up! He wrote, “Day would be owed $37.28 million by Ohio State if he were to be fired by as of Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, according to USA TODAY’s college football head coaches salaries database.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Ryan Day's time at Ohio State running out after another loss to Michigan?

Have an interesting take?

While the figure might look hefty, Day being one of the highest-paid coaches in college football, it’s still “manageable” considering the Buckeyes’ stature as a program. This further spiked the hate among fans as the sour remarks started to pour in for the HC. A fan waiting for the day to come when Ohio State will finally get rid of Day wrote, “FIRE RYAN DAY – This is absolutely embarrassing. How many years you need to see him get out-coached???” However, the Ohio State legend thinks otherwise.

The ex-Buckeyes running back Maurice Clarett stood in Ryan Day’s defense, “I’m NOT on the fire Ryan Day train. I used to troll because it was the popular thing to say last year but after spending time around the kids and the staff I strongly disagree. The man whooped 2 Top 5 teams in the past 30 days and I didn’t hear a soul say anything.” After all, coaches with 86.8% of wins is not available this very often!
