Woah! That’s what you call a match! The Oklahoma Sooners crushed Temple Owls 51-3 on August 30, Friday’s game. However, it’s not an easy task to woo OC Seth Littrell. Even after the massive win against the rivals, there are still some unmet wishes left in Seth’s heart that he addressed in the post-game face-off.
Even though he let his emotions run free, he did give the star of the evening, Jackson Arnold his due credit. Definitely, Arnold deserves all the attention as he surprised his program by throwing four touchdown passes. However, the evening ended with a mishap!

The Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium witnessed an incredible face-off. And right after the game, it was Oklahoma offensive coordinator Littrell who faced the media. Even though it has been a debut season for them, it went as exactly as fans had thought. The Sooners held Temple to just 197 yards of offense in a 51-3 rout. But no, that’s not enough for Littrell, who had expected to be the best when it came to pushing the ball. During the postgame conference, he said, “We didn’t push the ball downfield as much as we would have liked to but when you’re up like that, trying to manage and play a lot of different guys … that’s part of it. (Jackson) managed the game very well.”

However, while a feeling of discontent ruled in his heart, the OC did not forget to shower Arnold with praises for the fantastic show he had put up. Why wouldn’t he? The sophomore shot to the limelight after completing 17 of 25 passes for 141 yards in his debut as a starting QB for the Sooners. And with it, Arnold threw four touchdown passes to the newcomer, Deion Burks. Yes, you read that right, college football just got their next Deion.
Multiple injury reports concerns Sooners
The Purdue transfer, Burks, did help Arnold to flourish. In the meantime, he had three scores at halftime against the Owls and finished with six catches for 36 yards. This was enough for him to write his name in the legacy of Sooners players like Mark Bradly from 2004, and Ryan Broyles from 2009 among others who caught three touchdown passes in a half. The player said, “I feel like I left a couple plays out there that I wish I probably could have got on or me and Jackson could have connected on. But man, we got a great team win.”

But even then, Littrell is still holding out for more. It hurts to burst the OC’s bubble that his nightmare parade is just kicking off. After the August 30, Big Bash, Sooner wide receiver Jalil Farooq is expected to miss six to eight weeks.
During Friday night’s season-opening, Farooq suffered a broken foot that would require surgery. The WR holds immense talent as he was the one who caught a 47-yard pass from QB Jackson Arnold during the first quarter. The injury reports in the Sooners’ hood are going to be highly concerning for Seth Littrell as his roster already contains two injured players, Nic Anderson, the redshirt sophomore, and junior Jayden Gibson.
