The clocks are ticking, folks! We are just two months away from the big event, the 2025 NFL Draft. And as we all know, Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders comes off as one of the hottest targets. Even before Deion Sanders‘ son had declared for the draft, theories started to drop in speculating Shedeur’s next stop. Browns, Cowboys, Raiders, Jets – all of the NFL giants’ names have been linked to the QB, and the recruiting game is hard. But does any team have the upper hand here?
While programs like the Cowboys are now out of the race, another one gets a big boost to hunt down Shedeur. And that’s the New York Jets. However, Shedeur already got a piece of advice to execute Eli Manning‘s move. So should Coach Prime’s son stick to the suggestion or make his move?

Analyst pumps up New York Jets for Mission Shedeur Sanders
As far as the 2025 NFL Draft is concerned, Shedeur sees himself as the top pick. For quite a long time, analysts have been speculating on a Shedeur x Las Vegas collab. Right now the Raiders have jumped into the race to secure a top-tier quarterback, but the question is – will the Buffs QB consider Pete Carroll’s program? The chances are nil. After all, the Raiders hold the No.6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Analyst Field Yates also suggested in his mock draft that Las Vegas would select Shedeur as the sixth pick. That’s when the Buffs QB clearly confirmed, “That’s cap bruh, I ain’t going sixth.” Does that increase the chances of the Jets? Of course.
Analyst Mel Kiper believes that the Jets would move past the Raiders. He tried to hype them up by saying, “‘You are in a division with Josh [Allen], Drake Maye, & Tua [Tagovailoa] in an AFC loaded with great quarterbacks. You are 4th [in the AFC East], again that’s the problem.”
Well that would spice things up…@MelKiperESPN openly talked to @FieldYates about the possibility of the #Jets leapfrogging the #Raiders in a draft day trade with the #Jaguars at pick No. 5 overall to swipe Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders if he is still on the board. 👀

He continued, “You are so far away from what the reality is at quarterback that you need to be – so you gotta get a quarterback.” The QB position needs immediate attention. The Jets have parted ways with the veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While Kiper urges New York to make the move for the Buffs QB, their luck depends on one player – and that’s none other than Sam Darnold. Even before the offseason commenced, the Raiders had been linked to the Minnesota Vikings’ free-agent quarterback.
As Kiper stated, “Shedeur Sanders, he’s dropping to the Raiders what would preclude the Jets from going up ahead of the Raiders… If they get Darnold, Shedeur could be there, Field, for the Jets. So do they take Shedeur Sanders if you’re the Jets? I would think you would.” But what about the advice Shedeur got?

The Eli Manning blueprint for Shedeur Sanders
Well, we all know how protective Deion is about his kids’ careers. Now that Shedeur will be going off to the NFL, Coach Prime definitely had a strict opinion. He had hinted how the Buffs QB would flip the traditional narrative. Rather his decision will be solely determined by his evaluation and not the draft rankings or team selections. Deion stated while appearing on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast in March 2024, “I know where I want them to go. So, it’s certain cities that ain’t going to happen. It’s going to be an Eli.”
Not just Deion. On the Dan Patrick Show, analyst Mike Florio had some advice for the Buffs QB, “Somebody needs to say, ‘I’m not going to play for the Panthers, I’m not going to play for the Jets. I’ll sit out for a year. I got NIL money. I don’t need your money. I’ll sit out for a year and re-enter the draft.” Just in the Eli Manning way.

Back in the 2004 NFL Draft, Manning rejected the San Diego Chargers. Much later, in 2021, he shared what made him make the bold call. “It was my decision having talked with my agent, coaches, [general managers] and owners. Going through the draft process, I was just worried about the Chargers organization at the time. I felt it was the right decision and I had a little pull.” That’s how Shedeur Sanders sweepstakes is heating up.
