If you think that the 2024 kickoff is all about the big shots, it’s time for you to rethink! And who is propelling the change in the thought process? No.24 Navy Midshipmen. Coming off a gigantic win against the Charlotte 49ers on October 19, Brian Newberry’s squad deserves a special mention. No, not for their recent victory, but for being strong enough to maintain their win streak. Thus it’s time for Marcus Freeman to buckle up!
As an insider drops in with a warning before Newberry and Co.’s program faces off against the 11x national championship winner Notre Dame. Their HC Freeman might already be sacrificing his sleep to chart out the game plan. Looks like he has some “another level” blueprint ready.
The 2024 season has been easy for the ex-tight end turned CBS Sports analyst Adam Breneman when it comes to buying stocks. Well, he’s not quite sure about other programs, but when it comes to two teams—Army Black Knights and Navy Midshipmen—he can now trust them blindly. On October 21, Breneman posted, “I’m going to continue to buy stock in Army and Navy.”

For us to understand, he dropped in some insights, “Army scoring 42 points a game. Navy’s averaging 44 points a game.” Now say, when you are so serious about your portfolio, you too do a bit of study on the stocks, right? The analyst too studied Newberry’s program in detail. Looks like the Navy must fortify their fortress before their faceoff next week is against Freeman’s Fighting Irish as “ND is hot right now.”

But will they sit back and relax? No NEVER. Instead, Breneman raised a warning for Freeman and the boys, “I guarantee you Marcus Freeman is not sleeping tonight thinking about how he’s going to stop Navy’s offense because they are humming and clicking in all cylinders.” And why is the Midshipmen giving Freeman’s program a cold sweat? Navy improved to 6-0 for the first time since 1979. Right now they are 4-0 in the ACC. Not just this, Newberry’s boys are bowl-eligible for the first time since 2019. So now you can imagine the Notre Dame HC pulling out an all-nighter in his study, chalking out plans. Looks like, Freeman already has one!

The Fighting Irish totally crushed Georgia Tech, winning by a score of 31-13. What’s even cooler is that they never trailed in the second half. But Freeman’s squad is already expecting a tougher time ahead of the Navy face-off. The Irish who are riding their own 5-game streak will not let Newberry’s program rain on their parade as they have been already in financial trouble after losing to Northern Illinois.

So what’s their motto this time? “Find ways to improve, correct the mistakes, and continue to try to take this program to another level. The message to the team will be: Consistency is the key. Consistency is what it will take.” You might know what’s the equation between the two. Just to brush your memory about the long-time foes, Fighting Irish has owned this series, leading 80-13-1 all-time against the Midshipmen. Right now Freeman has the privilege of carrying a 43-game winning streak between 1964-2006, the longest winning streak by any team in an annual college rivalry game.
But then too, the Notre Dame HC seems to not take any chance against the Navy. “They’re putting up big numbers offensively. Their offensive scheme is enhanced from what we saw last year as we prepared for them last season,” commented Marcus Freeman. Now let’s see what the 97-year history of rivalry has in store for the fans on October 26!
