Believe it or not, but without the Buffs, college football seems boring. Even during their bye week, they manage to stay in the headlines, thanks in large part to their star quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. As the son of Buffs’ HC Deion Sanders, Shedeur has always been in the spotlight. However, the buzz surrounding him is not always positive; sometimes he catches flakes as well. Remember critics calling out to him, saying he’s famous because he belongs to the Sanders family! Now, after playing 10 weeks and 60 days in the 2024 season, Shedeur Sanders has put a tape on those mouths.
The Colorado Buffs jumped to 3rd spot on the Big 12 power rankings after week 10 games. With that, the Buffs’ playoff hopes also went high, and the major credit for their success goes to Shedeur Sanders. Even the QB currently holds an 8th position in the FBS ranks because of his 21 touchdown passes so far this season along with completing 2591 yards. All of it points at only one thing: Shedeur is indeed a star of college football. And he’s proven all those haters wrong who predicted his failure before the season started. Now his younger brother Deion Sanders Jr. penned down an X post to support his brother and shut his haters.
Yall remember before the season they named like 3-5 QBs better than my brother… what ever happened to that?

“Yall remember before the season they named like 3-5 QBs better than my brother… whatever happened to that?” In another post, Sanders Jr. wrote, “The older I get, I learn that (in most fields?) “the experts” aren’t really experts.. they’ve just been doing that one job for a long time.”

Woof! These are some big words coming from Deion Sanders Jr., but looking at the grip Shedeur has made over his football career this season, we can’t deny what his brother is writing. Although it was being said earlier for Shedeur that he won’t live up to the hype, he has made all of them wonder after his performance this season.
Is Shedeur Sanders the top NFL draft pick?
Shedeur could have left college football to join the pro league this year, but his father insisted he stay for another season. Now Shedeur is beyond grateful for that decision because not only has he cemented his overall stats, but his reputation in college football counts him as one of the top QBs at the Buffs.

Have an interesting take?
Recently, during practice, the Colorado coach reminded the boys to register for their next year’s classes by announcing, “Nobody is to miss.” Shedeur casually mentioned, “Man, I’m going to the league,” reminding everyone that he won’t be part of the Buffs unit or college football for much longer. In fact, the Buffs’ QB is already getting ranked as one of the top picks for the 2025 NFL draft. According to CBS Sports rankings, Shedeur will be the first-round pick.
Added to that, Shedeur is also a strong contender for the Heisman Trophy. His odds have significantly improved to +3500, putting him in the running with other top quarterbacks like Cam Ward and Dillon Gabriel. As the bowl-eligible Buffs gear up to face Texas Tech next week, we’ll see if Shedeur can further boost his Heisman chances.
