Is Shedeur Sanders' leadership in question after his viral criticism of teammates? What's your take?

Shedeur Sanders is taking the hit for his unsportsmanlike reaction to the Nebraska loss. During the offseason, the Buffs QB has been lauded by Deion Sanders and several media houses that he could be a potential first-round pick. However, with the season rolling on and results starting to show, the Buffs QB’s draft stock takes a hit. Shedeur Sanders played like a first-rounder in their season debut against North Dakota State but Week 2 didn’t go in the favor of the Buffs. In these two games, he threw for 689 yards, five touchdown passes, and two interceptions. While some scouts believe that Shedeur has the talent to be a great quarterback, it’s his demeanor that could cost him the first-round pick.

In a new report by CBS Sports on September 14, it has been revealed that some NFL scouts don’t believe Shedeur Sanders is a first-round pick despite the public notion. One unnamed scout said, “I’m honestly not convinced he’s a first-rounder.” The 22-year-old’s performance might not have been the best against the Cornhuskers. Still, that could pass, as it’s just one game. But his reaction after the game raised doubts and concerns in prospective NFL teams.

Another scout said, “His arm is stronger than it was at Jackson State, and he’s pretty accurate. I just get turned off by the me, me, me stuff, and then when he threw his offensive line under the bus.” In his post-game speech, Shedeur Sanders threw his teammates under the bus for their poor performance, saying that the O-line didn’t protect him enough to make plays. This gives more reason for NFL scouts to keep an eye on how he handles problems going further into the season.

The primary goal of Colorado’s offseason recruitment is to revamp their offensive line. After all, with Shedeur Sanders getting sacked 52 times last season, Deion Sanders was all about adding extra protection for his son. Week 1 game saw the QB subtly praising the O-line for a job well done, but their Nebraska loss was a different story.

Colorado’s 28-10 loss against true freshman Dylan Raiola and the Cornhuskers exposed their O-line’s need for improvement. Shedeur threw for 244 yards and one touchdown completing 23 of 38 passes. But he was hit multiple times and got sacked five times. His frustration on the O-line is understandable, considering how much hype the offensive linemen are getting. But he needs to control the way he expresses his frustration to avoid his NFL draft stock dropping further down.
