Woah! Things are getting hot for the Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders. Already, the young chap carries too much weight on his shoulders, being Deion Sanders’ son. So, the ceiling is already high for the 23-year-old. Now at this moment, some fruitful advice won’t hurt much, what say? That’s when Shedeur gets hit up with much-needed feedback to wade through the path ahead from a $96 million NFL star. Now marks a time when it’s easy for the Buffs QB to lose all hope about making his NFL dream come true. Already, Shedeur is losing the race to his fellow competitor.

Now, Shedeur often gets hyped up every now and then. But he needs someone who has walked the same path as him to help him out. That’s when Patrick Surtain II enters the picture. Surtain II himself is a star who has agreed on a four-year, $96 million deal with the Denver Broncos, making him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history. However, in Shedeur’s case, he appears to be the best one to give some healthy advice. Like the Buffs QB, Surtain II is the son of former Miami Dolphins star Patrick Surtain. The newly crowned Defensive Player of the Year has some advice for Shedeur to keep his eyes on the goal without taking into account what the path has in hold. So, what’s the message of the wise?

According to TMZ, it’s as simple as “Just cancel out all the noise.” His tip for Shedeur is never to compromise with his self-worth or self-confidence. “You know who you is. You know who you are as a person. All that matters is what you do on the field.” After all, the Buffs QB has dragged himself up the ladder. He was once the most sacked players in the history of college football. From there to finishing first nationally in completion percentage (74%). Second in touchdown passes (37). Fourth in passing yards (4,134). Shedeur has done it all. So, it was obvious that Deion’s son sees himself as the top pick. But the projections are trying to shake his confidence.

When ESPN’s Field Yates projected him to be landing in the Las Vegas Raiders as No.6 overall, it did not sit well with him. He immediately shut down the speculations, claiming, “That’s cap bruh, I ain’t going sixth.” Turns out that Yates’ mock draft was just the trailer.

The big debate around Shedeur Sanders’ future

CBS Sports’ mock draft by Tom Fornelli had much more pain reserved for Shedeur. The analyst has the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year drop to the No.21 overall spot. According to the analyst, the Cleveland Browns will be landing the Buffs QB. That’s when the Miami Hurricanes QB comes into the picture. As per Fornelli’s analysis, Cam Ward will be going No.1 overall. The Browns will take Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter as No.2, replacing their All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett. But another NFL star would like to differ from the analyst.

On February 21, Sports Illustrated released a short clip from Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs. After knowing that the Tennessee Titans hold the No.1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he said, “Oh they need a quarterback. Ohhh..It’s a toss up between the two. Between Cam Ward and obviously [Shedeur] Sanders. I think you can’t go wrong with either or.” Sadly, Shedeur’s talent and stats are getting overshadowed by his off-field antics

NFL Rookie Watch posted on IG, “Shedeur Sanders is reportedly being placed behind Cam Ward on several team’s boards now due to ‘off-the-field/attitude’ concerns…Some NFL team’s are reportedly ‘concerned’ that Sanders isn’t solely focused on football, but rather his rap career and creating a personality out of himself.” That’s because the Buffs QB also shows some strong passion in rapping. And because of this, the NFL scouts might not be convinced about Shedeur’s focus on the sport. In contrast, football is Ward’s No.1 priority. Now it’s on Shedeur—will he drown in the noise or take Patrick Surtain II’s advice to heart?
