Miss Terry's love for Alabama—Does this make Nick Saban's legacy even more untouchable?

Nick Saban is sure the face of Alabama football! Well, that’s a fact and there are no counterarguments for facts. With his 17 years, 9 SEC titles, and 6 national championships, he has quite cemented his legacy in Tuscaloosa.

Now, it’s time for the GOAT to be honored in the best way possible! The field at the iconic Bryant-Denny Stadium is being named after him. Well, the idea had been floating around for a while, but today it became official with a special event at the Alabama facility. And Nick Saban’s wife, Terry, was sure one of the proud faces at the event.

Terry Saban spoke at the event after the Board of Trustees finalized the decision. “It’s been happy,” she said, with emotions filling her voice. She then lightened the mood by joking about fans who “named their dog Saban,” which got a laugh from the crowd. “And we realize this is really a cut above that,” she added, acknowledging the honor with a smile.

Nick Saban’s daughter shows love

Well, the idea of naming ‘Nick Saban Field’ at Bryant-Denny Stadium has been floating around since the SEC media days in July. While the internet went gaga over it, the GOAT’s daughter shared her love too! In fact, Kristen Saban was one of the first to share the news on Instagram, writing that she’s “beyond proud” of her dad. She was even more thrilled when her phone automatically renamed ‘Saban Field’ to ‘Dad’ in her map settings. She even shared this sweet moment on her IG, saying, “Peep that name change on the map,” with all awe.

While Kristen is celebrating her dad’s honor with all her heart, not everyone feels the same way. After all, there are always two sides to every coin. While many think Nick Saban deserves to have the field named after him, some think it’s way too soon. After all, he only retired in January, and it hasn’t even been a year since he left. You can still feel his presence around the Alabama facility, as he has an office there. Meanwhile, CFB expert Joshua Perry even thinks that this decision might even hurt the new head coach, Kalen DeBoer, to some extent. He said, “It feels like there’s too much Saban around,” which could eventually overshadow DeBoer as he just started his journey with the Crimson Tide.

Looks like critics are slowly seeping their way in with their takes on this massive honor.
