It ain’t no lie that Nick Saban has made a major mark in college football and has made the Crimson Tide a solid force on the list. However, another area where Nick has made considerable progress often goes overlooked. Nick’s own nonprofit Nick’s Kids Foundation is something he started to support children and students for different causes. The organization has donated around $1.2m to over 20 different families.
And now on August 17th, we find Nick’s daughter Kristen Saban bringing us some celebratory pictures from a recent event involving the nonprofit. “Best day of the year. It’s all about the kids,” Kristen wrote in her post on Instagram. The family was seen spending an amazing time while also handing over a check for a massive $100K to Freedom Farm. Apart from the normal donations, Nick has also helped in providing homes to many people. Ellen Potts from Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa mentioned during an interview, “So they have funded a total of 20 houses.” This was done to honor the National Championship and Sugar Bowl wins. The event that Kristen posted on Instagram was held on Wednesday.

The luncheon held at Bryant-Denny Stadium saw Nick handing over checks which totaled around $625,000. “This is one of my favorite days of the year,” Nick Saban had mentioned regarding the event. Malachi Moore, Wilkin Formby, Justice Haynes, and many other players from the Crimson Tide were present and joined Nick and his family as they celebrated their day. However, donations and getting houses for families aren’t the only things that Nick Saban has done alongside his nonprofit organization.
Saban Center for the people
Nick’s Kids Foundation is also funding the building of the Saban Center. A learning hub projected to bring in a new age of education in the city of Tuscaloosa. The main goal of the project is to combine STEM with arts. This will allow the campus to provide a unique learning experience for any child from West Alabama. “We are very confident,” Walt Maddox, mayor of Tuscaloosa, had mentioned regarding the overall timeline of the project.
The idea has also managed to secure a backing of $25 million from the city of Alabama. “I have not retired from Nick’s Kids,” Nick had said during the luncheon back on Wednesday. With the Crimson Tide gearing up for a solid 2024 season under Kalen DeBoer, looks like Nick, on the other hand, is gearing up to make a big change for many children.
