Is Nick Saban's legacy overshadowing Kalen DeBoer's efforts to lead Alabama to new heights?

Nick Saban is living THE life right now. After giving Bama some of the best years the camp has ever had, Nick Saban had to say goodbye. And fans were not that happy (understandable). However, our favorite former HC was not out of the game yet cause he was back on ESPN Gameday to talk about teams and college football. From having an entire stadium named after him to going on to have fun banter with Pat McAfee on ESPN, Saban is living the fun retired life while also keeping the Tide fans happy. BUT, it looks like he missed out on one fan!!

Back on Instagram, Chris Marler shared a reel. “I made this video for you 4 years ago and send it every year,” Marler mentioned in the caption of the post. The video is a funny one. “I just wanna say happy birthday to you…… we got you 2 of these boxes of oatmeal creme pies,” Marler says in the video. Dude has been sending this for the last 4 YEARS. He is lucky Nick has not filed a restraining order against it. However, while our favorite HC did miss out on acknowledging the message, his daughter didn’t. In the comment section, Kristen Saban left a message, “This will go down in history.”

We do hope it does and maybe then Nick Saban would finally notice it. It’s kind of funny to just take a break from the CFB world and look at all the shenanigans happening around Nick. Take the August 24th ESPN Gameday as an example. Right before the segment began, Nick, Pat McAfee, and Nick’s wife, Miss Terry, were all spotted together at a bar.

Doing what? McAfee asked Miss Terry to have a dance with him, and she nailed it. Nick was sitting back with a smile plastered all over his face. “She can dance. She can step through it,” Nick Saban mentioned regarding the entire thing.

With Kristen dealing with crazy Nick fans, our former HC can take a break and focus on bigger things that are going to arrive on November 1oth. See, Bama has had quite the year. Starting with Saban’s retirement and going into the 2024 season with an all-new HC (Kalen DeBoer), Tide fans were in quite the pickle. It’s understandable because no one out there could mirror the legacy Saban had left. However, DeBoer managed to win back everyone’s heart when the Tide walked out of Saban Field with a 41-34 win over Bama’s biggest rivals, the Bulldogs. But then things took a bad turn.

Have an interesting take?

Coming off of by-week, can the Tide roll once again?

One loss to an unranked team like Vandy was all it took to take away people’s faith once again. Bama was in a rough spot. Winning against Georgia but losing against Vanderbilt at 40-35 was not a good look. And the momentum did not improve going into the South Carolina game. With a 27-25 win, while Tide did manage to win, they did not manage to impress the people. The end game was a literal throw from South Carolina. If their QB hadn’t missed the last-moment pass toward the endzone, then it would’ve been over for the Crimson Tide.

Adding insult to injury was the loss to the Vols. Now, how could Kalen DeBoer redeem himself? Well, Missou was the answer. Going into the Tigers showdown, almost no one had faith that Bama could pull through. Their offense had been in shambles in the last 3 games, and only a miracle could help them win against the Tigers. And well, Bama pulled off the unexpected with a massive 34-0 win over the Tigers. This game was a display of PURE SKILLS. This is what a true Tide looks like.

The defense was on point and barely allowed the Tigers to gain any momentum. Not only that, the defense also managed to land 2 massive interceptions to turn it over for the Tide offense. Now, the question is, coming off of the bye-week can DeBoer win against LSU? See, in the last 10 years, coming off of a by-week, Crimson Tide has never lost a game. DeBoer has to maintain that streak and only then can the Tide finally roll into peace.
