Now, no one here thought that the NFL was going to be a smooth ride. After a 9-3 season and a pending bowl game, Deion Sanders is on the hot seat as one of the best HCs out here. But this title comes with its disadvantages. See, what Deion Sanders managed to do with the Buffs, it has made people ask for an NFL switch. The entire call has been so wild that Paul Finebaum has even joined and pushed for Coach Prime in the NFL era. This whole situation is so weird because we don’t even know if Deion Sanders wants to leave the Buffs or not. But what if he does? What if he does make the jump?
Will it be smooth sailing? Nick Saban doesn’t think so. Back on The Pat McAfee Show, Saban had a very insightful take on this NFL talk. “If you take a Head Coaching job in the NFL, you better look at the roster, the salary cap & the Quarterback situation,” Nick Saban pointed out. See, this ain’t college football anymore. When you sign that contract, you land in the middle of a billion-dollar empire. Saban had his share of problems when he took that Dolphins coaching job. The team was $17 million over the cap, had a 4-12 record, and was the oldest in the league.

You have to take all those things into consideration because if you don’t you can end up in a no win situation” ~ Coach Saban #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/XsKKkIG1wX

If that wasn’t enough, they didn’t even have a proper quarterback. While they did have a winning season in the first year with Saban as HC, that was pretty much it. “You have to take all those things into consideration because if you don’t, you can end up in a no-win situation,” Saban added.
Anywhere you look, you will find the Deion Sanders at Cowboys conversation up in full swing. This entire hiring makes sense for Jerry Jones. After dishing out over $200 million on Dak Prescott and then being gifted a season-ending injury along with a 5-7 year under Mike McCarthy, Jones does need a revamp.
But compared to the Colorado job, Coach Prime won’t get full control here. The only reason why the University of Colorado Boulder is enjoying millions in profit was because its athletic director decided to hand over everything to Deion Sanders. It was a gamble, but it paid off. Pretty sure Jones won’t hand over all the control and even if he does, only hiring Deion won’t get the job done.

You take Coach Prime, you also gotta take his son
Why do we keep talking about Dak Prescott? Jones needs a new quarterback, and if he plans on taking Deion Sanders as the HC, then he also has to make room for Shedeur Sanders. Over the year, Deion has been very vocal about deciding where his son finally lands during the 2025 draft.

There is a high chance that if Coach Prime decides to leave the Buffs, he will follow Shedeur into a team. Jones has to be ready for it. Even Marvin Harrison Sr. is all aboard with the idea of having Deion-Shedeur on the same team. “One of his biggest concerns coming in the league is what if you get the wrong kind of quarterback?” Harrison had pointed out.

Deion cares about the quarterback situation, and he knows that if he makes the wrong pick, then it could end up bringing down the entire team. So, his wanting to keep his son as the team QB is the perfect play. While we still don’t know if this move will even be a thing, all we have to do is wait for the drafts to start.
