Nick Saban's billion-dollar impact—Is he the greatest college football coach of all time?

Alabama Crimson Tide hardly has any dull moments! All thanks to their all-time favorite HC, Nick Saban, since most of the accomplishments surround the GOAT. Just when Crimson Tide fans thought that they were done with their celebrations after their favorite Bryant-Denny Stadium got its new name after the ex-HC, here drops in another big update. Going by the reports, Alabama football players have signed over $1 billion in NFL contracts. And, of course, Saban could not wait to flex it since the class that shines bright has been handpicked by the GOAT himself.

Saban just got the good news that he would be sharing his name with two other legends in the name of their favorite field. While he is all geared up for the special ceremony on the eve of September 7, he has something more to be proud of. Now that Alabama football is stacking M’s and that too has crossed 100, is a good enough reason for Saban’s chest to boast with pride. Going by the reports, in just the offseason, the Buffs’ alums have stamped their names in over $1 billion worth of NFL contracts. On the Pat McAfee Show, when the host asked Saban, “Do you know that your players have signed $1 billion worth of deals this offseason in the NFL?”

The GOAT came up with a very calm reply, “Yeah, I knew that. That’s great. I am happy for them.” Going by the ex-HC’s way of reply, it’s evident that it’s something that Saban had always expected. Why wouldn’t he? After all, Saban has hand-curated the primed Alabama roster.

He believed in one philosophy that helped Alabama football to reach where they are today, “I couldn’t coach bad players to play good, so I had to go get good players, and we got good players, and we developed them fairly well.” And who all are cashing in and stacking up dollar bills? The former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa is one of them.

Bama Boys keep Nick Saban smiling with big NFL payouts

The Miami Hurricanes count on the ex-Crimson Tide QB Tagovailoa. So much so, that Mario Cristobal and Co. agreed to a new four-year, $212.4 million contract back in July. However, this success was a result of the successful chemistry between Saban and the QB during the late 2010s. It was the same athlete who led Alabama to a 22-2 record in his 24 starts. And the list of former players from the Tuscaloosa hood still making Saban proud hereby continues.

Have an interesting take?

The ex-Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. signed a four-year contract worth $96 million on September 4. With this, the Crimson Tide alumnus became the highest-paid defensive back ever.  Their former WR Jaylen Waddle caught hold of an $84.75 million extension with the Miami Dolphins, another WR Calvin Ridley too hooked a $92 million extension with the Tennessee Titans.

It has been eight months since Nick Saban bid farewell to his role as the Alabama Crimson Tide HC. Saban’s ex-pupils are still out there, making sure the NFL knows where their homework came from. That’s what you call Nick “GOAT” Saban’s power!
