Already, Kalen DeBoer and Crimson Tide are desperately looking for a place to hide after their shocking defeat against Vanderbilt Commodores. And guess what? The fans couldn’t even wait to reach home and take out their phones to thrash Alabama online. Instead, they ensured that DeBoer’s program got the bitter taste of their defeat right there on the field on Saturday, October 5. And what better way to use their pride, GOAT Nick Saban to sprinkle some salt on fresh wounds? That’s exactly what they did! Oh, wait! Did this just nudge your recent memory about the brutal plan whipped up by Matt Rhule’s army a few days back?

Somewhere on Saturday, Crimson Tide’s patent high-energy had taken a backseat and their sloppy play had put DeBoer’s army behind right from the start. The Commodores came with a two-touchdown lead. Plus, the Tide struggled with stopping passes and by the time Vanderbilt took a 40-28 lead with 5:07 left, it was 12-for-18 on third downs. But hardly did Alabama have thought in their wildest dreams that they would hand the keys to the Commodores. And guess what? Vanderbilt made the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show DeBoer’s program the dark side of fan craze. Right after the game, analyst Steven Godfrey dropped in with a quick update, “Vanderbilt Stadium is playing Saban’s comments about their stadium from the Pat McAfee Show on a loop, over and over.”

Maybe, that’s the cost Tide had to pay for taking the Commodores too lightly. But how could they be blamed when their guru, GOAT Nick Saban, has been the one to plant the seeds within them? The resurfaced video showed the Tide ex-HC in a conversation with Pat McAfee where he blatantly stated,  “The only place you play in the SEC that’s not hard to play is Vanderbilt.” So much was his confidence as he further came up with a bold claim, “At Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than they have. And that’s no disrespect to them. It’s the truth.” Talk about a salty comeback — Alabama’s wounds just got seasoned with the clip playing on repeat on the big screen. Did the Commodores take notes from Nebraska’s revenge plan?

Just like it came off as a surprise to DeBoer and Co. to be thrashed so badly by Vanderbilt, Deion Sanders, and Colorado Buffaloes had been in somewhat of a similar spot. While the CFB fans were super sure about Coach Prime’s army crushing the Huskers, Nebraska flipped the script and came dropping a 28-10 soul-crushing loss to the Buffs. 

That’s when the suspense started to peak. Right after claiming their victory, Matt Rhule’s army rushed back to their locker room. Till this it was okay. What they did next just blew the fans’ minds. While post-game celebrations are a common sight, the Huskers thought it doing the Buffs way. They blasted Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders’ “Perfect Timing” rap on full volume and even imitated Deion’s son’s watch flex move. 

As things went out of hand then, Deion Sanders got extra vigilant in keeping the Buffs’ emotions under control before their next game against the Colorado State Rams. Now that Vanderbilt passed an ugly shade, fans are waiting for Kalen DeBoer’s reply. But the Alabama HC won’t say a word — he’ll let their gridiron action do the talking!
