All eyes had been on Alabama after Nick Saban’s sudden retirement and Kalen DeBoer stepping in almost immediately as the replacement. In addition, QB Jalen Milroe hasn’t been exactly idle this offseason rising to become one of the top NIL earners in college football. So he’s also bringing in more attention to their season debut against Western Kentucky at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Alabama has always been considered one of the best college football programs and has developed and produced several NFL first-round picks. In the last NFL draft, a total of three Crimson Tide players were first-rounders, and they’re all present for this big first game under DeBoer’s era.
Jalen Milroe finally got the platform to walk the talk. This offseason has been a productive one and he’s channeling that success on the field. And he’s attracted so much attention including some 2024 first-round pick alums. In a new X post on September 1, it is reported that “Alabama’s 2024 first-round picks JC Latham, Dallas Turner and Terrion Arnold are all in attendance tonight.”

After a run for the national championship title, OT JC Latham became the 7th overall pick, landing with the Tennessee Titans. Dallas Turner and Terrion Arnold were picked at No. 17 to the Minnesota Vikings and No. 24 to the Detroit Lions, respectively. What they’re witnessing now is a different game from what they’ve played under Saban as DeBoer takes the reins. And their attendance is worth it as Alabama is giving them a game to remember!

Alabama is already setting the bar high in the second quarter of the game under new HC Kalen DeBoer. And it looks like DeBoer’s showing his power off as Alabama leads 42-0. And why not? With Jalen Milroe starting the game with some elite players, they already are a formidable team. WKU is not Alabama’s opponent and Milroe easily recorded 186 yards and three TDs as of now. It’s without question that the Crimson Tide are going to haul their first win in their season opener.
Milroe may have also found a trusted partner in their 17-year-old freshman WR. Saraland HS product Ryan Williams is shining alongside Milroe as he adorns his first college football game with glory. He already recorded two receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. With the weapons that Alabama has this season, this game against WKU is going to be an easy win for the Crimson Tide.
