Amid all the success that the Buffs have had this season, Travis Hunter has also been a remarkable story. A genuine two-way star who features on every snap in the game. Does he not get tired? Many have wondered about this and continue to be amazed by Prime Time’s lethal weapon. That story in college football could finish with Hunter being the Heisman winner. Following that, we are sure to have a start to another glorious story. Travis Hunter as an NFL player. While NFL Draft experts are predicting a top-10 pick for Travis, one analyst has weighed in with a contrarian view.

On The November 15 episode of 1010 XL/92.5 FM, analyst Chad Forbes poured water on Hunter’s NFL hopes. At the very start of his comments, he deemed the Buffs star ‘overrated’. That’s not all. Forber further said, “I think that he’s [Travis] regressed. He’s not the wide receiver that everyone’s made him out to be. This isn’t like AJ Green and Julio Jones coming into the NFL where it was like, you look at him and say, Okay, I can see that guy being a bona fide number one wide receiver I look at Travis Hunter and I think, you might have to play him a lot in the slot, right? And I don’t love slot-only wide receivers. That’s why I was a big believer in Brian Thomas Jr, the wide receiver from Arizona. I think it’s really close between him and Travis Hunter at this point.”

Forbes talked about the Arizona receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who comes second in almost all the rankings for the WR position behind Hunter. So far this season, Travis Hunter has hauled in 69 receptions for 856 yards and nine touchdowns. While there is still some time before the season ends, Hunter has already crossed his records from last year.

But being that top pick isn’t just down to Hunter being good. It’s all that the team with the top pick in the Draft needs next season. Some might just go with D-line or edge options. This discussion leaves a bitter taste for Deion Sanders’ player, who, a few years ago, had revealed his wish to play for the Denver Broncos. At 5-5 this season, the Broncos are currently primed to have a first-round pick between No. 11-20. Even if we consider Forbes’ comments, it’s highly unlikely that Travis would stay undrafted till that time.

What are the odds of Travis Hunter winning the Heisman Trophy?

Travis Hunter’s Heisman odds almost skyrocketed after his nine catches and 99 yards, along with scoring a touchdown in the Week 11 game against Texas Tech. Another reason for Hunter to go up was because of Cam Ward’s okayish performance in the Hurricanes’ loss to Georgia Tech. Ward, who was running ahead of Hunter throughout these weeks, was the favorite before week 11.

Finally, after a successful season and putting in so much effort, Travis Hunter holds -115 odds to win the Heisman title, as per FanDuel. Followed by Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel at +360 and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty at +360. No wonder Hunter is the nation’s best dual-threat player right now.
