Dylan Raiola vs. Shedeur Sanders: Who's the real deal in college football?

Having played 43 snaps in Nebraska’s defeat against Colorado last season, linebacker Mikai Gbayor understands the experience of exiting the field as jubilant CU fans flooded it. Moreover, he mentioned that it was a tough game for Nebraska because of their weak offense. But this year the team already racked up 507 yards in a 40-7 win over UTEP.

Therefore, it seems like a good preparation for the upcoming dogfight between CU Buffs and Cornhuskers because the Huskers’ O has a lot of “dawgs” on it. Moreover, this year Nebraska has Dylan Raiola, who not only helps to strengthen their offense but also helps to make Nebraska a playoff contender, whereas Colorado has Sheduer Sanders. Now, the question is, is there any comparison between Nebraska’s Raiola and Colorado’s Shedeur?

On September 4, 2024,We Coming‘, a fan page of CU Buffs, shared a video clip on their X account. Where NU’s LB was asked, Raiola’s passing prowess would help NU’s defense get ready for CU quarterback Shedeur Sanders. In response, he said,You can’t compare Dylan to Shedeur Sanders. Don’t do that. Dylan is a different man,“. Then, when he was asked, “How is Dylan different?” He added,The way he plays, the way he goes out there and attacks. Dylan is a dog. You’ll see on Saturday.”

Although Gbayor’s mockery of Sanders does not end here, moreover, he says,I put all my trust in him and this team and the guys who are blocking for him. We’ve just got to do our part on defense.“. However, Gbayor never denied the talent of Sanders and that is why, once he stated, “Sanders is a good quarterback who likes to get out of the pocket to make throws. Not to forget, CU Buff’s head coach also praised NU QB because of his talent or prowess.

Raiola, the son of a former NFL offensive lineman, started his first college game against UTEP and won it. To see his remarkable performance in that game, Colorado’s head coach, Deion, said, “The kid (Raiola) made some darn good throws, some pretty good plays. They (Nebraska) did some consistent things that we knew they would do within their offense I love what he showed in his first college game ever.”

However, the five-star true freshman has a huge potential to bring more success to the team. So, will Railo and Co. be able to beat Deion’s CU Buffs this year? Or they would not be fighting with Shedeur and Co. What do you think? Let me know your thoughts in the comment box.
