Ever felt cheated by a show? It’s never a good feeling. We can’t deny what the multiple award winning artist brought to Mercedes Benz Stadium is unique, but it doesn’t resonate with many fans’ expectations. When it was announced that Travis Scott would be headlining the National Championship game halftime show, fans expected a wild and engaging performance. But that’s quite the opposite.
Travis Scott got this coveted performance after his last album release in July 2023 titled Utopia. But it’s the anticipation of a new album and his new song debut titled “4×4” that had so many fans eagerly waiting for his performance. Instead, it’s more of a bubble bursting situation as fans voiced their dissatisfaction on X on January 20. One fan wrote, “They told us Travis Scott was performing at the game. No one told us it was on top of the game what the f— he’s literally on top of the stadium.”

Travis Scott isn’t headlining the CFP championship game between Ohio State and Notre Dame for money. It’s more of a promotion for his new song “4×4” which still stole the hearts of fans despite his lackluster performance. And it’s got an unexpected twist because the Grammy Award nominee is no stranger to headlining football shows.
Travis Scott was a beast during the 2019 Super Bowl performance with his “Sicko Mode” that channeled millions of people to tune in to the SB performance. This year’s performance has an absurd tinge to it. Nobody expected the halftime show of the ultimate CFP championship game to be on the rooftop! But hey, was Scott even on the rooftops?
CFP National Championship audience slam Travis Scott’s halftime performance
What a shocker it has been for those waiting to see Travis Scott in action! One person voiced his frustration on X saying, “Lmfao the crowd paid to see Travis Scott in the stadium and he’s performing on the roof.” This comment invited several responses from other fans who agreed.

Another person endorsed this statement and added their own bit to it. They wrote, “He said f— y’all” while another wrote “Crazy work.” But that’s not even the craziest part.
Perhaps, most people had this particular fan’s mindset when they arrived at MBS in Atlanta. The disillusioned fan wrote, “I thought it was gonna be a Super Bowl style show and not some precorded single song performance on the roof.” While the “4×4” performance aired live on ESPN’s broadcast, the video was pre-recorded and fans even wondered if he was in attendance at all.
And now everywhere, everyone is slamming his unique approach for this halftime performance. Another one trolled the rapper, “Travis Scott halftime performance but he literally didn’t even go inside the stadium???? Lmao.” What a bust to the most prominent college football event of all time!
