When you’re testing third-year head coach Dan Lanning, the conference doesn’t matter. He rocked when they were in the Pac-12, and he rocked now that they are in the Big 10. A 49-21 victory that came out on Saturday night was like a cherry on top. And now? The Ducks are flexing their near-perfect 12-0 season. 12-0! How amazing that looks and sounds. While a major part of their success goes to their fearsome head coach, a big credit also goes to his starting quarterback and Heisman candidate, Dillon Gabriel. While our guy is enjoying his last moments with the program, how is he feeling?

Brenna Green, a KOINNews anchor and reporter shared an emotional video of Dillon Gabriel talking to the media after the Oregon Ducks’ Week 14 win over Washington. While the reporters asked him about what made this edition of the Ducks special and what’s so special about this program, he didn’t hold back his emotions.

As I’ve gotten older, I’m chasing people, and I’m chasing memories; you know, I’m not promised tomorrow. I don’t know when my time is up, you know, but that’s what I’m chasing. And I think the more memories, the more great people you can be around, the more fulfilling your life is. So I would just say, getting here the great people that invest in you that are extremely positive and want to see the best out of you,” a visibly emotional Oregon QB1 said.

Under Dillon’s leadership, the Oregon Ducks are thriving and successful. That’s the reason the guy deserves Heisman more than anyone. Even on Saturday, his impact was huge as he completed 16 out of 23 passes for 209 yards and two passing touchdowns. Adding to yet another touchdown run. So, it’s natural that the emotions took over. A team that hasn’t seen the L, and you’re leader.

“I think it’s a powerful feeling, and I’m grateful to be a part of it, and grateful to contribute to it. But I think you just see everyone involved, you know, that makes this thing go as equipment, staff training staff, you know, our people down in our cafeteria, people who take care of this building, you know, that’s all the people and all the support even deaf nation, you know, it’s people that you know really make this thing go so we’re appreciative of them and just want to represent them in the right way,” Gabriel further said.

However, for now, the focus is on the Conference Championship game. They face a tough opponent in Penn State.
