Big wins, tragic losses, a lot of hope among the despair, and some dramatic sighs! College football’s remaining few weeks promise a lot of unthinkable to reshuffle your prediction board. Before December 8th knocks on the door with the final top 12 cuts, you certainly have eliminated a slew of teams from the cart. But tighten your belt. The committee might surprise you, catering to the SEC underdogs who sustained multiple losses in the season. Under this evolved college football system, as Joel Klatt said, no team is safe. You can expect the unexpected if one performance can cover up some worst matches for BYU and Indiana and hand them a higher spot in the AP poll. ESPN did the same and snubbed some nasty losses in their latest Top 12 projection.
After another chaotic Saturday of a slew of high-octane games and a few letdowns of the bigwigs, the projected playoff comes far from last week’s reality. Oregon, throughout straight 12 wins, maintained his top-tier spot as the only SEC team. Texas Longhorns improved its stakes as the new No. 2 spot after they clinched a ticket to Atlanta after a gusty win over Texas A&M on Saturday night. But that’s no surprise.
The moment that you can blow your socks off is when you spot Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina on the top 12 list. Sweet relief for Bama fans after they wrecked their season with a massive Oklahoma loss! Although DeBoer made some justice to his beleaguered job, bouncing back at the Iron Bowl against Auburn Tigers, a playoff spot was still a far cry after their three pathetic losses. However, ESPN analytics takes a different path when considering keeping them at No. 10, ignoring all the controversies.

Georgia Bulldogs still had a legit approval to be in the top 12 sphere, as Nick Saban debated that the Bulldogs deserved the playoff berth as the only team with three losses, and they had a chance to beat Georgia Tech. Smart did that. The Dawgs dwarfed the Georgia Tech in a thrilling weekend show and added some value to their resume.
Last but not least, if you have some questions about the Gamecocks, let’s break it spot on. However, they had enough wear and tears to their record book with three blowout losses against Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss. The context of their defeats, especially against LSY Tigers, calls for debate. South Carolina had three penalties called against the Tigers, each of which remains questionable to date. So, it was far from a clean loss. Having them on No 5 doesn’t seem very absurd on this ground.
Kalen DeBoer, however, didn’t wait for the ESPN list to be out to make a case for his playoff-worthy team. He never gave up on the f hope in the first place.

Kalen DeBoer defended his team’s dim playoff hope at all cost
Kalen DeBoer has been at the most critical point of his career, dealing with random flakes on his coaching ability, on-field decisions, player management, and whatnot! The man who signed up to walk on the fire after Nick Saban left the building has constantly been trying to deliver, but something or the other has gone wrong as a promising season almost slipped away. But wait, there is still reason to believe in the Bama supremacy. Even after they mounted several turnovers against the Sooners? Yes, we are not kidding. DeBoer believed they played a lot of physical football throughout the season.
”We won five of our last six, playing physical football. I think we’ve continued to excel in that area with what the game’s all about. I think those are two pretty big deals. We beat some high-quality teams, teams that are still out there I believe playing some good ball themselves and then just winning five the last six in the back half of the season,” said the present Bama coach, justifying an underwhelming season.

Believing it or not, it is up to your own football instinct, but DeBoer legit manifested the spot against all the odds in the ESPN top 12 bracket.
