When will Mike Norvell get to see the light of the rainbow dawning on him? The Seminoles incurred their 4th loss against the SMU Mustangs when they finished with a score of 42-16. The same team that was at the top spot last year with a 13-1 record is currently ranking 12th in the ACC Conference. Moreover, seeing as the score is 1-4 for Mike Norvell’s FSU, the fans want him to be replaced by another coach immediately, though it comes with its own hefty buyout. Adding to this list of troubles for Mike Norvell, one of his 4-star commits might just be shifting his sights from the Seminoles to Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns, which happens to be his native team.
The On3 Recruits show released their latest episode on 30th September and was heard talking about the Longhorns’ recruiting attempts to lure McCutchen away from the very clutches of the Seminoles. The host mentioned how FSU built the earlier foundation but Texas would want the youngster for themselves since he could fit very well in their roster lineup for the 2025 season.
The host said, ” I just felt like Florida State had built that earlier foundation. They had solidified that a little bit sooner in their recruitment and I think that’s why he ultimately picked the Seminoles but that didn’t stop Texas. They think McCutchen is the perfect compliment to Jamie French and Kyle Lockett, the two five stars committed in the 2025 class. McCutchen had a blast, he thought the atmosphere was electric, he could feel that SEC Vibe throughout the stadium and he loved the wide receiver play.”

Thus, the winds aren’t too clear on where they will blow the talents of McCutchen, but as of now, it remains to be seen if he’ll switch up his commitment from FSU to Texas. With that being said, let’s take a look at the numbers of Daylan McCutchen that speak for his reputation.
The stats and information on Daylan McCutchen
He is a Texas native and has been rated as one of the best wide receivers in the class of 2025. He is worthy of all the praise about him. Though the 5-foot-11, 175-pound athlete isn’t too big on size, his speed and agility rank him as the number 93 overall prospect, the number 14 WR, and the number 18 recruit in Texas in the 2025 class, as per 247Sports.
Back in July of this year, it was announced that McCutchen would be committing to FSU over teams like USC, Texas, Ohio State, and SMU but eventually, Mike Norvell was the man that he chose to play under.
