Will Jahkeem Stewart's Louisiana roots ultimately sway him towards LSU despite Oregon's allure?

If you think that the USC Trojans 5-star QB Julian “JuJu” Lewis is the hottest contestant, it’s time for you to get accustomed to a new name. The 5-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart has kept the Big State giants on their toes. To give insights about the recruitment game, On3 recruits insider drops in with some updates about where Ryan Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes and Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks stand in the landing Jahkeem race. While Stewart seems to be already inclined towards Lanning’s Ducks, things may also turn in Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers’ way.

Stewart comes off as the top uncommitted lineman in the 2025 recruiting class. On Saturday, October 12, he along with his family flew to Eugene. Wondering where the Ducks stand at the recruitment game? Insider Josh Newberg got us covered. Well, it looks quite positive for Lanning, as the analyst stated, “I think things are trending the right way for Oregon in this recruitment for Jahkeem Stewart.”

While it’s still not finalized, what is that thing that gives Oregon the advantage? Their win against Day’s squad was 32-31 by just one point. Newberg even pointed out the possibility of Oregon hosting Stewart during their bye week. That would be extremely helpful in connecting with the DL. Now what about the Ohio State Buckeyes?

Stewart was there in Ohio State on Saturday, October 26 as they faced off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who came with a 21-17 win over Matt Rhule’s army. Interestingly, it was the second time that the DL had taken a trip to the Buckeyes hood. In another podcast, analyst Steve Wiltfong comes up with some interesting updates: “In the fall I traded some texts with his camp today he is going to dinner with the coaching staff tonight I imagine Ryan Day will be part of that.” What might be the catch for Stewart if he signs up for Day’s program?

According to the analyst, “He envisions himself playing in the biggest games in college football consistently on the biggest stage, playing for the championships, playing for the most coveted awards.” If you think that’s too alluring, time for you to know about what Jahkeem feels.

Why could LSU steal the Jahkeem Stewart deal?

Well, the DL seems to have already made up his mind. And in his list of favorites, Oregon takes up the first place. The 2025 DL dropped the big claim, “I can definitely see myself playing in that type of environment. The Oregon fans showed me a ton of love.” But hold on a bit tighter before jumping to a conclusion.

As per Wiltfong’s analysis, the prediction says that it’s neither Oregon nor Ohio State but the LSU Tigers who stand at a 94.6 percent chance to land the elite recruit. “There is a lot of people around the state of Louisiana that think he ultimately will end up at LSU,” commented the analyst. Now what is the USP that Kelly’s Tigers holds?

“He’s from the state of Louisiana. He’ll be ranked the number two player in that state for this class,” the quintessential LSU factor that Jahkeem Stewart carries with himself. So now, no less than a buffet platter is spread out before the DL. Let’s see what he picks!
