The pageantry and splendor off the gridiron has to match that on it. Especially when the stakes are so high. It’s only right the people bestowed with the honor of covering the Natty do justice to it. ESPN’s Molly McGrath, tasked with the sideline coverage of the CFB National Championship, will see plenty of broadcast coverage. Naturally, she’s dressed up for the sheer amount of eyeballs that’ll be on her.
Molly McGrath is one of those reporters who knows what this magnitude of the game demands. She’s traversed the sidelines of a Natty before. She’ll tell you best that you’ve got to stand out as well as blend in concurrently. Can’t overshadow the players and coaches you’ll converse with. Not that this should be an issue with the golden-helmet-bearing Notre Dame Fighting Irish. So what do you wear when you’re about to work with people bearing bright scarlet on one side and gold on the other? Go clean, go straightforward. Wear black.
McGrath is out at the Mercedes-Benz, donning a chic black onesie with just the right amount of glittery silver spread across sporadically. Elegant with a dash of some sparkle, perhaps an ode to the shiny bit of hardware at stake today. Speaking of glittery silver, Molly McGrath must be counting her lucky stars. After all, she’s going to witness Natty live in the flesh, with arguably the best view of the house. If the top half of McGrath’s jumpsuit represented retro-style glitz, the bottom half was a blend of the old with the new.

Molly McGrath opted for jet-black bootcut/flare pants to compliment the subtly bedazzled top half. A nice little detail on this top was the end of the sleeves. Both wrists feature a muffler-esque bit of wool. Again, jet black. Now, most people who touch that Mercedes-Benz grass tonight will rock some cleats. Molly McGrath, meanwhile, will be trudging along the sidelines in a pair of bejewelled silver heels. The shoes are perhaps the piece de resistance that brings the entirety of this monochrome outfit together.
The who’s who of America are imminent at this behemoth clash. The stands will be filled to the brim with some eye-catching outfits. Molly McGrath opting for a more understated look could well be a calculated masterstroke. Stand out with simplicity. Plus, she has one of the most important assignments of her broadcasting career beckoning. That said, the stunning outfit is still bound to sway heads.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover”: This cliche rings true with Molly McGrath
Molly McGrath has more than earned her right to be at the Natty, plying her trade. Don’t mistake her for being a pretty face for the cameras. She’s thoroughbred in the media sphere. McGrath has been a sideline reporter with ESPN since 2016. That’s close to 9 years of perfecting her craft. Prior to her gig with ESPN, she worked her way up the ranks with the Boston Celtics, FOX Sports and ABC.
She’s been a nifty customer from the outset. While being a cheerleader at her alma mater, Boston College, McGrath presented the school’s athletic director with a proposition. Let her interview players for the website. Well, she hasn’t looked back since. Talk about hustling your way to the top echelon.

Now that she’s quite literally at the top echelon of the sport, Molly McGrath will seek to cement her stature. The national lens will inadvertently be on her. The players and coaches on either side won’t be the only ones looking to make an impression. At least she’s begun on the right track with her choice of outfit.
