Does Shedeur Sanders' $70K watch show confidence or unnecessary showboating?

You take the man out of the city, not the city out of the man. Shedeur Sanders isn’t only famous because he was marked as the most sacked QB in the 2023 season. He is also famous because he thought it would be a fun idea to flex his watch during the game against Colorado State. Not only that, following the CU State game, Shedeur went on to flex his watch yet again to the Arizona State student section after the Buffs managed to grab the win against the Sun Devils. The Audemars Piguet which Shedeur had on him back then was around $70K. While people had thought that maybe this year they won’t see these shenanigans happen again, they were dead wrong.

Because folks, like that one jilted lover, history keeps coming back to repeat itself. A parody account of Shannon Sharpe took to X on August 30th to post what Shedeur had been doing before the Buffs hit the field against the Bisons. “Shedeur Sanders flexing his Richard Mille during pregame,” the account noted in the caption. Well, the video shows Shedeur smiling while lifting his hands and showing up his $70K Richard Mille. You cannot go to a Buffs game and not expect some drama. While Shedeur has all rights to flex on the folks, can he hold up the other end of the promise and not let the fans down? Deion has brought over Pat Shurmur this year to make sure that the ghost of Shedeur’s past didn’t come back to haunt him. Last year, despite recording solid stats like 20+ TDs and a completion rate of 72% (13th highest in the entire season), the kid still managed to have a 9.8% sack rate on his dropbacks. While a lot of it was because of Deion not being able to form an O-line around his QB, Shedeur still made a ton of mistakes as well.

Much like NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah had noted, “he tries to do too much”. Shedeur has always been too stubborn, and that affects him when he finds himself in the pocket. If that is sorted out, and the kid manages to sneak in some solid passes, then he would be unstoppable. ESPN’s Jordan Reid had noted that Sanders has the potential to become the next No.1 starter in the NFL, however, the Bison’s game would be a good anchor point to judge where this kid would lead his team this season. Still, grabbing a win is important because there are a lot of NFL scouts and analysts present.

Deion Sanders brings in the attendance

On August 29th we got the news that around 31 NFL scouts and executives will be present during the NDSU vs CU game. This is a big reminder that Deion Sanders is still ruling CFB. Despite having a rough season back in 2023, the man has the 2 most important players in CFB. We all know that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will be leaving for the NFL next year. While there is a major chance that Shedeur might make it to the Cowboys.

Where Hunter would go? Raiders are a good pick. If we look back, Deion had high praise for Raiders HC Antonio Pierce. Coach Prime also mentioned that his kids would love to play for Pierce. And Hunter being in Raiders will make sense. Pierce is young and smart and can easily use Hunter’s potential as a WR. Regardless of what happens, you better keep focused on the game.
