The Alabama Crimson Tide’s freshman wide receiver, Ryan Williams, and his team are not only making waves on the field but also off it. Their 41-34 victory over Georgia showcased their impressive gameplay, but it’s their NIL deals and flashy lifestyles that are also grabbing headlines. The Alabama boys seem to be outshining even Deion Sanders’ bling with their recent “icy jewelry” flex. Let’s see what this is all about!
On October 3rd, @bamacfb and @newwave_show took to Instagram to share a carousel of Jaylen Mbakwe and Ryan’s recent gesture towards their teammates, saying, “Jaylen Mbakwe & Ryan Williams used their NIL deal with @shopgld to get Alabama Chains for the whole team & staff.” Well, Jaylen and Ryan used their NIL deal with @shopgld, a luxury jewelry brand. The account posted a video of their teammates sporting custom-made Alabama initial pendants, each featuring a sparkling ‘A’ adorned with icy stones. That’s quite a fun banter between the whole team. Even fans loved their gesture as they commented on the post, saying, “I love this sharing! Nice young men!”

Is Ryan Williams setting a new standard for how athletes should appreciate their support staff?
Have an interesting take?
Even Alabama’s head coach, Kalen DeBoer, knew what he was doing when he recruited Ryan Williams to the team. In an interview with sports analyst Paul Finebaum, Kalen mentioned his enthusiasm towards getting Ryan into the team, saying, “He was a priority right off the bat. There was not going to be transfers for us to go bring in. Ryan was certainly a priority in-state guy, and we made a trip down there as quickly as we possibly could.”
However, William had his own doubts about the team heading its new era under DeBoer. He took back his name from the program as soon as former Alabama coach Nick Saban left. But again in January, he committed DeBoer and the team. And now, this is turning out to be the right decision after all!
