The Wolverines will again put their fire to the test against the Spartans. This will be a prestige fight as Sherrine Moore has to restore the team’s worth after two crucial Big 10 losses. However, the downturn with the Huskies and the Illinois Fighting Illini might be visible damage of the absence of a few of their key players. The national champs have been without their safety, Jaden Mangham, most of the season. CB Ja’Den McBurrows and safety Rod Moore also gave up the season amidst injury horror. However, the one that must hurt them the most is Will Johnson, the projected top-five pick in the 2025 NFL Draft’s lower leg injury hiatus. While confusion persists regarding the 21-year-old availability, Michigan might bag in some excellent alternatives around.
Michigan football will be on a recruiting tour this week as insider Sam Web can see and credit the sharp-witted and visionary coaching staff for their agility in making a lofty 2025 roster. The latest in their bowl? Georgia commit Shamari Earls and that too in the place of Will Johnson. On Thursday night, Webb on 247Sports placed a Crystal Ball Prediction in favor of the Wolverines to flip the four-star cornerback.
Reflecting why it’s going to be an elite call for the Wolverines, the Michigan Sports Talk host noted, ”Because they’re looking for someone to replace Will Johnson. Michigan, they really were trying to convince Shamari Earls and pitch the idea to him that he could, you know, replace Will Johnson. Now Shamari ears, he’s got a lot of talent and he has been really close to the Michigan coaching staff.”

If that turns out to be the case, the recruiting trail will only go upward for the 4-3 Wolverines despite their tottering winning trend on the season. That was not the only breath of relief for Moore and the team. It seems they are on the verge of dissolving the long-standing QB issues as well, with 5-star QB Bryce Underwood being on the mark.

Michigan football has been terrible in some of their recent games and experts blamed the QB squad. They visibly failed to make moderate to hard throws, impacting their offensive output in each game. Eight games into the season, the team still couldn’t decide who to roll into the starting QB’s shoes.
After dealing with a lot of hurdles (mostly injuries), Moore found a glimmer of hope in seventh-year veteran Jack Tuttle. But lately, he also started to give off a shaky vibe, missing out on some important wide-open targets. So, the issue persists for all the senses and purposes. However, to go by the internet hype, Bryce Underwood, the top quarterback recruit in the country, looks like the one-stop solution for Ann-Arbor.

While he has been committed to LSU, the in-state boosters are ready to cross the seas and mountains to make him reconsider his decision, leading to a high-voltage flip. While it’s still a far-fetched idea, Moore isn’t giving up on solving the current quarterback conundrum. As for Underwood, he reportedly ‘‘has been receptive to the advances’‘ and quite eager to explore ‘what to do next’.
