The name of Conor Stalions in Ann Arbor is a two-edged sword. On the one hand, there are the people who appreciated his illicit activities in ensuring Michigan’s national championship victory, and on the other are the fans who hate him from their very souls for tarnishing the program’s reputation and credibility. Notice how the words “people” and “fans” were used in different contexts? It’s because no true fan would commend Stalions’ actions since it’s damaging to the sport of football, and though he has secured himself a spot as a head coach in a school, it looks like karma is finally catching up to him.

On 21st September, ‘Rivals.com’ took to their official Instagram account to release an update on the newest coaching venture of Connor Stalions. The former member of the Michigan staff is now the acting head coach at the Detroit Mumford High School but isn’t doing a good job at it. The famed ‘Michigan Sign Stealer’ had a clean slate and a new opportunity to coach the right way, but it looks like he can’t win games unless he doesn’t cheat for it.

According to the post, “Connor Stalions falls to 0-4 as a high school coach. Stalion’s defense has given up 198 points in 4 weeks.” With the comments under the post mainly mocking Stalions and the school, it is evident that the former defensive coordinator for the Wolverines has a reputation that will forever be tainted by the crimes he committed in the 2023 season.

It doesn’t look like Stalions is off to a good start, and while it is to be seen whether he’s bad at the job or the team itself isn’t up to the mark, the community of college football will always resent him for his actions even though he is trying to turn over a better leaf. Here’s what Stalions had to say after he took up the mantle of the acting head coach for Mumford High School.

Stalions and his desire to “flip the culture” at Mumford

The Michigan Wolverines aren’t living up to the standard of the team they were in the 2023 season, seeing as how their record stands at 2-1 at the moment. Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines went 15-0 and won the national championship, while Sherrone Moore’s team seems to be struggling to find their pace.

In retrospect, it looks like the men in Maize only went 15-0 because they had Stalions on the side, providing the team with all the unfair advantages, but now that he’s leading a whole new team, he has a message that is indicative of drastic change.

After the first loss as the acting head coach, here’s what Stalions had to say about the future games. He said, “I came to Mumford because I wanted to help flip the culture. They are not used to winning and I wanted to help show these guys the actual process of what it’s going to take to win, because they eventually will win, and for me that’s more gratifying than going to a program that’s already winning.”

Thus, it will be an extremely new environment for Stalions, who’s shifted from a dominantly winning team to a team that doesn’t know its meaning too much.
