Can Michigan Wolverines rise again, or is their glory days just a distant memory?

This fall from grace has to be studied. When the Wolverines started this season off under new HC Sherrone Moore, people had thought that these guys would keep the legacy alive and stand as the strong defending champions. Nope. 5-4 with no playoffs and probably no Bowl games for them as well. Michigan man is dead. It’s kind of wild to think that this was the same team that went undefeated last year and grabbed that national championship. Dude, what happened? Jim Harbaugh handed Sherrone Moore a disaster. From QB issues to the entire “cheating scandal”, ain’t nothing saving the Wolverines this year.

However, for 2025, there is still hope. Back on The Joel Klatt Show, Joel Klatt brings up a fair point. “You gotta turnover the roster,” Klatt mentioned. Moore and Co. need a revamp badly. Their entire offense and defense have been all over the place. The biggest issue is their QB depth and Moore’s constant starting QB changes. All of this has to go. However, there is always a negative side to things. “They gonna lose some of these first-round players after this season,” Klatt points out. See, if Moore wants to make a comeback in 2025, then he has to understand that the Wolverines are going to lose out on multiple players during this recruitment run.

And up to a certain extent, that is alright. As we pointed out, the Wolverines need a revamp, and the 2025 season will offer Moore to start with a clean slate. The fans already hate the entire camp, and rightfully so. However, we can also point out that Moore shouldn’t be the one taking on all the blame.

When Harbaugh handed him this roster, it had already started losing the major players. The star QB JJ McCarthy was out of the run and Moore had to rebuild using either Alex Orji or Davis Warren. None of these guys have been able to replicate the same success McCarthy gave Harbaugh.

But now, Moore and his recruitment team are in full swing, and they have even managed to snag some really good prospects for their 2025 roster. Shamari Earls was the first one to flip from the Dawgs to Michigan and this is a huge win. Getting a 4-star CB from Georgia can change the entire defense. Still, coming back to what we said before, getting a good QB should be the priority and it looks like Moore and Co. have a target.

No.1 player in Michigan

The recruitment staff has placed the bait. We found out a few days back that Michigan has given 5-star QB Bryce Underwood a $5 million NIL offer. Currently, Underwood is committed to LSU and if Moore manages to flip him, then he will get the No.1 QB prospect in the entire country. This will drastically push the QB depth and help Moore tackle every problem he has faced this season.

However, the best part about this Underwood flip is that if Bryce switches, then Michigan will get a buy 1 get 1 free offer. Michigan Insider had mentioned back on On3 Recruits, “I don’t think Meadows would’ve visited Michigan yesterday if there wasn’t some serious interest.” Another LSU commit 4-star WR Derek Meadows, had paid Michigan a visit.

Now, the chances of Meadows flipping to the Wolverines are correlated with Bryce taking up the offer. Moore finally has a shot at restoring the Wolverines back to their former glory and let’s hope he doesn’t mess it up.
