Michigan may boast 17 commits in the 2025 recruiting class that ranks No. 12 in the nation. But it may not be before long that one of them makes a commitment flip. 4-star TE Andrew Olesh had been one of Sherrone Moore‘s best wins when he signed with Michigan in July. But the Big Ten rivals are relentlessly pushing to win his favor.
Steve Wiltfong appeared alongside Josh Newberg in a new YouTube episode on On3 Recruits on November 3. In the episode, he gave the latest intel on Andrew Olesh after his recent attendance at the Penn State vs Ohio State game. He said, “I talked to him and his father George following the game. They had a great time outside of the result of the game.”

Penn State entered Week 10 as a 3-point underdog against Ohio State in the Big Ten showdown. The Buckeyes put a stop to their seven-game winning streak by delivering a lone 20-13 defeat to the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium on Saturday. Still, the final score isn’t the end for Penn State, who will still get a chance to fight for the playoffs with the new 12-team college football playoff.

As Wiltfong pointed out, “Andrew Olesh could be a big win for them at the end of this 2025 recruiting cycle.” The No. 3 TE in Pennsylvania met with HC James Franklin before the game who told him that Penn State’s got everything he needs to be successful. Wiltfong added, “We’ll see how this continues to play out but I could definitely see Andrew Olesh in Penn State’s class when all is said and done.” But Penn State’s not the only Big Ten threat that Michigan should be wary about.
Andrew Olesh warms up to the Oregon Ducks
Andrew Olesh may be committed to Michigan but he’s still open to possibilities. Last week, when Michigan was celebrating its victory over Michigan State, the Center Valley Southern Lehigh star was at another Big Ten clash between Oregon and Illinois. Triumphing 38-9, Dan Lanning and the Ducks gave him more than enough reason why joining them would be best for his football career.

Oregon currently ranks No. 7 in the nation in the 2025 recruiting class with 15 commits, including three 5-star commits. They continue to dominate CFB as the No. 1 team and one of the two undefeated programs in the Big Ten, the other being Indiana. Andrew Olesh still has more visits left in him, including another potential visit to Oregon. But next week, he’ll be at Notre Dame’s game against FSU. Where do you think his ultimate commitment lies with?
