The Michigan Wolverines achieved their most significant victory of the season by defeating their longstanding rivals, the USC Trojans, with a final score of 27-24. The team is now filled with excitement as they prepare to battle against the Minnesota Golden Gophers today at Michigan Stadium. It’s going to be an exciting sight to see the Wolverines host them at their home and enjoy the performance of their Marching Band after their Game Day Rituals.
Band tribes hold a very special place in college football. Talking about Michigan’s band history, it all began in 1898. Earlier there were only 22 players, and now the number has increased to over 400 band members. The band only performs for Michigan Wolverines home games with concerts, team rallies, and parade marches. There are two divisions of students, one with 235 students performing during pregame and 276 students performing during halftime. The MMB students practice for hours each week to prepare a new halftime show for each home football game. There is an interesting fact you might not know about the band: friends can sponsor a halftime show by donating $15,000, which also includes recognition in the Game Day program. Michigan follows an interesting procedure to determine which student will perform on which block.

It’s going to be interesting to witness two old rivals fighting to get ahead of the game. Well, talking about Michigan, they are the defending champions and have a strong rushing game. As it was quite evident in their last game against the Trojans, even after the team threw for 32 yards, the team was successful in securing a win. Running back Kalel Mullings ran for 159 yards with two touchdowns and scored a game-winning TD against USC for fourth down with just 37 seconds left. However, Minnesota gave up 206 rushing yards with three touchdowns against Lowa in their last game.
Even the Golden might have an over the Michigan Wolverines as the team lacks passing abilities. Also, their starting quarterback, Alex Orji, did not showcase a reliable passing game, as he just threw 12 passes against the Trojans. Based on their previous performances, both teams are doing a good job, but there is room for improvement. Let’s see which team will come out victorious and succeed in today’s game. Till then keep supporting your favorite team.
