Michigan might be celebrating after their fresh 24-17 victory over rival Michigan State. But their only TE commit of the 2025 class has gone cross-country to visit the No. 1 team in the nation. Andrew Olesh committed to Michigan in July over Alabama, Penn State, and Florida. But now, considering how the season is progressing and how the situations are unfolding, Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines are in danger of a commitment flip.

Center Valley Southern Lehigh standout TE Andrew Olesh was in attendance at Oregon’s last game against Illinois. In the latest YouTube episode on On3 Recruits on October 27, Max Torres joined Steve Wiltfong to discuss Dan Lanning’s chances of winning the commitment of this No. 47 overall prospect. Torres said, “They got him out on campus for this visit and they’re gonna take their shot and Kenyon Sadiq had himself a great game as did Patrick Herbert… Tight end definitely a major position of need and the Ducks have two of their top targets in town this weekend.”

The Oregon Ducks currently rank in the top 10 in the 2025 recruiting class with 16 commits, including two 5-star WRs. But their need for tight ends remains unaddressed. Therefore, this weekend was a huge one for Lanning as two elite committed TEs made a trip to Eugene. Andrew Olesh is the No. 3 TE in Pennsylvania

The other elite player in attendance at Autzen Stadium is Troy TE Vander Ploog. He’s the No. 16 TE and the nation’s No. 242 overall prospect. Like Olesh, he’s also committed to the Washington Huskies, who are 4-4 into the season. We may have to wait a while for updates to surface but the Ducks made sure that their elite guests had a game to remember as they delivered yet another statement 38-9 win over No. 20 Illinois.

Oregon delivered yet another statement win against Illinois

From the players’ performances and coaches’ abilities to their united fan base, there’s a lot to like about Oregon. After Week 9, the schedule ahead looks light unless the Ducks somehow manage to fall so low in an upset loss against an unranked team. And that’s not likely to happen given the momentum at which they’re cruising the season, improving to 8-0 after their victory over the Fighting Illini

What’s your perspective on:

Is Michigan's recruiting prowess slipping as Andrew Olesh eyes a future with the Oregon Ducks?

In what was expected to be an intense Big Ten battle, Oregon easily dominated the whole night, pinning Illinois behind with a 32-point lead in the first half. They shone in all aspects, recording 500+ total yards on offense. TEs Kenyon Sadiq made two catches for 28 yards and rushed one time for 16 yards, while Patrick Herbert had two receptions for 48 yards, which is a plus for Oregon given the TE prospects at the game. With this win, Oregon remains one of the three unbeaten teams in the conference, with the other two being No. 3 Penn State and No. 13 Indiana.
