This season has been a real challenge for head coach Sherrone Moore. Each week seems to bring new problems; if he resolves the quarterback issues one week, the defense struggles the next. They are the defending champions for a reason, right? Despite these challenges, his team managed to secure a win against Michigan State, 24-17.
The entire season has been disappointing for Michigan. After back-to-back two defeats, the Wolverines registered their fifth victory of the season. However, in the final seconds of the games, Michigan players got into a fight with their opponents. It looks like they thought they had the license to talk trash about their rivals. Tight end Colston Loveland’s comment, “Lil bro stay doing little bro things,” has sparked a backlash among fans.

Following ongoing controversies surrounding Michigan, a frustrated fan wrote, “Thug dirty program. It is what it is…”. The bluntness of the remark emphasizes a belief that the problems within the program and fans are deeply rooted.
Colston Loveland displayed some impressive game-catching with two touchdown passes and a 2-point conversion, which helped Michigan win over Michigan State 24-17 and end their losing streak. However, his attitude on the field is getting all the backlash.
Backlash grows against Colston Loveland
In spite of delivering some impressive plays, who does that? Everything was going right. After so long this season, Michigan fans got to celebrate, but the tight end did not let them. Neither did he himself enjoy the moment, nor did he let others. The frustration around tight end grows, and another fan commented, “This might be one of the worst interviews from a potential top-rated TE/player in recent history. I remember the tunnel incident and everyone wanting suspensions. Yall got some. Let’s turn the clock back here then. Can’t wait to see yall get waxed by 60 vs OSU. lil bro”
The backlash did not stop there! Commenting on TE’s behavior during and after the game and the overall performance of the Michigan State team, another fan tweeted, “This is a stupid response lol. Bad for the game. But also, MSU showed more fight after that play than they did in the second half lol. If Sherrone Moore and Jonathan Smith respect the game, both teams will be running till they puke lol. I can’t imagine practice will be fun for either of these teams this week lol.”

Is Colston Loveland's attitude overshadowing his talent and hurting Michigan's reputation?
Have an interesting take?
The head coach needs to do some disciplining. Although Moore is trying his best to bring his team out of difficult situations, it looks like he is not getting the support he needs from the players. Is it so?
One fan did not hold back from summarizing the incident on social media and questioned the TE’s confidence: “Bro headbutts a player and then gets put in his place before calling his buddies to help him….how do you get the confidence to say something like this after getting bitched?” However, are you aware of the past conflicts between the teams? This action raises questions about sportsmanship and respect within the sport.
Joining the ongoing debate, another fan blamed Loveland and wrote, “He started it, typical UofM arrogant hypocrite.” The tweet clearly highlights how frustrated the fans are. One elderly fan criticizes Loveland for lacking maturity and sportsmanship, emphasizing that winning should be celebrated with grace rather than taunting the opponent.

“What a stupid statement. He sounds like an immature kid. Win the game with poise. You won! No need to to rub it I their face. I expect more from men. He’s a great player but needs to become a better person. Love his play, but BE BETTER, Colston! Go Blue!” The fan acknowledges Loveland’s talent as a player but urges him to improve his character and conduct off the field. Do you feel the same? Such actions on and off the field are very wrong. Winning and losing is part and parcel of the game.
Next week, Michigan will play against Oregon, which is one of the strongest teams this season. Things are not going to be easy for them at all. Considering their performance, Loveland and the team need to be humble.
