Remember the first game the Miami Dolphins played against the Jaguars in the 2024 season? The game ended with a win for the Dolphins as the Jaguars were edged out by 20-17. But what stood out in that game was Tyreek Hill’s performance. Tyreek Hill, who finished with 130 yards and a touchdown on an incredible 80-yard drive, left the Jaguars’ defense with no answers. In a sense, the wide receiver inspired that comeback, too. However, his season didn’t go as he had hoped. It also didn’t help that his QB1 missed out on several games due to a concussion. The Dolphins couldn’t make it to the postseason, and Hill was linked to moves of all sorts. For now, he’s with Miami. But the ‘Cheetah’ is onto something else altogether in a different setting.

For those less versed, Norfolk State, the largest HBCU in America, has recently appointed Michael Vick as their head coach for the 2025 season. The former 4-time Pro Bowler quarterback’s coaching move was approved unanimously by the program’s board of directors. The move came after previous head coach Dawson Odums failed to show any progress after a 4-8 season finish in 2024, and a 15-31 record overall. However, in a recent post posted by Tyreek Hill, Vick’s job may be in trouble before it even started.

The wide receiver fondly known as ‘Cheetah’ due to his ultimate speed posted on X.. “Have my HBCU coaching gig ready.” The player posted after DeSean Jackson was named the head coach of Delaware State. However, Michael Vick was asked the same question in a recent interview given to ESPN; the new head coach was asked if a coaching gig at Norfolk State is on the cards for the ‘Cheetah.’

Michael Vick acknowledged the ability the player possesses and the star-studded status of the wide receiver; he still advised patience but acknowledged that there might be a place for the wide receiver after all. “I think Tyreek got a couple more years left. He got a lot of downs left, so he needs to focus on what’s going on in Miami, and let me handle this over here, but he’ll definitely have a chance to coach when he’s ready.”

Hill, 31, sure has a lot of downs left in his tank. The 2020 Super Bowl winner still has a lot to offer and probably will lead the Dolphins to a Super Bowl championship, as he did with the Kansas City Chiefs. Just last season, the ‘Cheetah’ produced 1,215 yards on 84 receptions along with 76 rushing yards. A coaching gig might not be too much of a worry for Hill now after Vick’s assurance. But let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want Hill to coach their wide receivers?

Michael Vick opens up on Andy Reid’s heartwarming gesture

Despite the star-studded career Michael Vick had in the NFL and was at his prime for some time. Still, one dark chapter of his life overshadowed all of his achievements. The former Falcons QB was convicted after an illegal dog-fighting ring was busted in Virginia in 2007, and Vick was implicated to be a part of it. The QB was suspended from the league and also served 21 months in federal prison. After returning from prison, Vick had major issues returning to the NFL, as not many teams were giving a convicted ‘felon’ a chance. But that’s when Andy Reid came in.

Vick recently spoke highly of Reid and how the Eagles’ head coach gave the QB a chance to build his career again. “Andy just overall helped me become a well-rounded individual. He helped me grow up as a man. Andy, I got with him when I was 29 years old, and I think that’s really when you’re entering into your prime.”

That year, Vick not only announced his return but also won the Comeback Player of the Year award in the NFL. From then on, the now Norfolk State head coach went on to play for the Eagles till 2013. And then moved on to the Jets and Steelers before finally retiring in 2017.
