The December 1 face-off was no less than a “disaster” for Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes. The loss came as a surprise as Syracuse Orange thought of pulling a ‘UNO reverse’ at the last moment. But not to forget how even with a loss, luck favored them as even after the major upset they were safe from humiliation. Part of it is because of how complex the ranking games are and part of it is handed by a Big Ten team. But not to forget how Cristobal is the reason why his QB Cam Ward now faces a big setback.
Even though Syracuse emerged as the winner, they were trailing 21-0. That’s when fans might have switched the channels. But if they had done that, they might have been left with a surprise just like Josh Pate. On Josh Pate’s College Football Show, the analyst recalled how he got to know about the final score and for once even mistook it as a basketball game, “Someone text you like they did me yesterday I look at the ‘Hey Josh’ cause I’m at another game and I say Syracuse 42-38 Miami must be playing in basketball as well this week that was my first thought they must be playing in basketball.” But keeping the jokes aside, Cristobal was able to ward off some serious strip-off sessions on media.

Time to delve into the domino effect. The Hurricanes were supposed to play in the ACC championship game. But now that Cristobal’s boys lost to Syracuse, the Clemson Tigers got their free ticket smoothly qualifying for the ACC championship game. That helped in a way since going to the championship and losing there would have made the attacks way more brutal. Now what about the other factor that safeguarded them from critical blow?
“If you are a Miami fan, you’re very lucky that Ohio State imploded like they did yesterday or you’d be front page news for all the wrong reasons and you should be you,” stated Day. Yes, after how the Buckeyes had the fourth loss of the season, all eyes are now on Day and his boys. But mind you, even though Cristobal has been lucky to stay away from criticism, his QB had to bear the blows.

How Mario Cristobal crushed Cam Ward’s dreams
The dominoes are falling here and there in the Heisman race. Looks like it’s going to be a two-man race between Colorado Buffaloes dual-threat Travis Hunter and Boise State Broncos RB Ashton Jeanty. Yes, bad luck, Cam Ward fans! Your favorite QB’s Heisman journey came to an end as the orange gang crushed them 42-38! Well, the fact that they knew how so much depended on the Syracuse vs Miami face-off, HC Cristobal should have guarded his fortress well. That’s why he will now have to carry the blame as Pate is upset with the Hurricanes HC. The L rained down on Ward’s Heisman chances, leaving Cristobal’s signal-caller out of the race.
Pate initially thought the Hurricanes to be very lucky, “I said wow so you got a Heisman contender quarterback in Cam Ward those guys don’t come around too often.” However, Cristobal failed to make the most use of their lucky charm. “Miami has wasted Cam Ward this year,” is what Pate strongly believes. Looks like he is not the only one to blame Cristobal.

The college football pundit, Paul Finebaum made an entry with his expert commentary. And as expected the ESPN analyst did not mince his words while talking about Mario Cristobal, “You just can’t do that when you have everything on the line. This has been a tendency of Mario Cristobal’s teams at Miami. Remember, they had the Georgia Tech game and they blew it. They had this game in hand. They were up 21-0 and they let it slip away on the road.” Now this might leave you with the big doubt whether Cristobal is the right coach to lead Miami back to national prominence.
