Can Matt Rhule's strategy really shut down Travis Hunter, or is Colorado just too strong?

Starting week 1 of this season on a positive note with a 1-0 win over North Dakota State on Thursday, Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes are now preparing to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday. This game will be an adventure for fans as both teams are here to showcase their strengths and exploit the opposition’s weaknesses.

In the season’s first game, Travis Hunter led the Buffs to a convincing 31-26 victory over the Bisons, but there was an issue in the O-line since Deion decided to make changes to the team. Furthermore, the defense was also in trouble. We witnessed how effortlessly Cam Miller, the Bisons’ quarterback, could rush in some strong plays, and the Buffs could not contain him.

Hence, Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers can take advantage of this as Colorado’s main vulnerability.

Will Deion Sanders stay unbeaten?

On September 2, 2024, On3 posted a YouTube video on their channel regarding Nebraska’s hope of winning against Colorado. Here, the host mentioned two methods by which Nebraska may beat Buffs,Nebraska: they want to make this race a little more of a cross country meet.”

He continued, “You know a few laps, but after we start to kind of wear you down, keep your defense out there, suffocate your offense. We hold the ball for a long time, then we make our move and we win.

Not to ignore, these predictions are made on calculative data, but you can’t stick with it as it may be true or may not because the game can be changed at any point. Let’s wait and we will tell you the factors on which Nebraska HC, Matt Rhule, can count.

Matt Rhule’s advantage over the Buffs

The depth of the Cornhuskers’ defensive line will make them a formidable challenge for the Buffs. They have players like Ty Robinson, Jimari Butler, and Nash Hutmacher, this season. Furthermore, if we consider the defensive lineman’s overall development, we can see that he played about 100 snaps the previous season. Although the Buffs were able to beat Nebraska in 2023 despite their weak offensive line, the likelihood of the same happening again this year is minimal.

On the other hand, Dylan Raiola will continue to play quarterback for Rhule this season. Notably, Raiola did indeed transfer to Kansas City, but Bobby Stroupe was to serve as his trainer there. With this, Raiola gains the necessary NFL experience to handle Shedeur Sanders’ determination and Travis Hunter’s skills while maintaining possession.

Therefore, Nebraska has a chance to beat Deion’s Buffs. Sanders remains undefeated this season, according to popular opinion. What do you think? Let me know your thoughts in the comment box.
