This season, the star quarterback of the Nebraska Huskers, Dylan Raiola, is embarking on a bittersweet journey. Despite securing a fairly decent 14-7 win against Rutgers, Raiola’s gameplay in the game has raised significant questions, including from head coach Matt Rhule, who believes there is room for improvement. Let’s see what he has to say about Dylan’s performance.

After a remarkable win of 14-7 against Rutgers last week, Matt Rhule’s Nebraska Huskers are all set to take over the Indiana Hoosiers next week. Today on HuskerOnline, Rhule discussed the lessons they got while playing against Rutgers. Surprisingly, he even pointed out their star quarterback, Dylan Raiola’s weak points in the game. “It was hard to get into a rhythm; that’s not an excuse; we have to get into a rhythm that way; don’t make no mistake, but, like, I thought that was part of it, but I think Dylan’s the guy that the guys on offense look to so we can continue to help him with the improved run game, guys getting open. I think he’ll get better and better and better every week back to the run game.”

Moreover, Dylan did nothing much for the team in their last game, as the Huskers’ struggling offense was quite visible throughout their game against the Rutgers. They only managed to get 261 total yards against them. However, Huskers wide receiver Janiran Bonner made an 11-yard touchdown into the end zone, but after that, the team’s offense did nothing much in the game. Well, even if it was a rough game for Raiola, being a freshman, he did play a good game for the team.

Dylan Raiola’s performance for Nebraska

The fact that Dylan Raiola is struggling to keep up a consistent game this season can’t be denied. But the fact that the precision and gameplay he represents in the field is also something you can’t ignore. In Huskers last week’s showdown against Purdue, Dylan completed 16 out of 26 passes running for 244 yards with a touchdown. That’s not the only thing he did. Raiola’s precision led the Huskers to six-pass interference calls.

Dylan Raiola also showcased strong gameplay against the Buffs. He led the Huskers to an early lead against them by passing for 185 yards and scoring a touchdown, which made him a key asset for their offense. A few weeks back on On3 recruits insiders predicted him as a significant player for Matt Rhule and team, saying, “So, they’ve had a great opportunity to sell what they’re going to be and show what some of these freshmen have been able to do. And obviously, Dylan Riola—I mean, he sells Nebraska right now as well as anybody.” Well, one bad showing doesn’t make you a bad player. Let’s see if Dylan Raiola could take Matt Rhule’s words into consideration and make improvements in his gameplay.
