The Spring recruiting portal has been storing up the discussion lately. After a mixed-bag regular season came to an end, all teams and coaches are looking for redemption or retention of their elite standard in a compelling off-season. The most important weapon to ensure that goal is nothing but stacking up the rosters with more A-lister talents in different spots. However, it’s not just about the immediate future, coaches are already shifting their focus to the 2026 roster building swooping in some notable names on the bag.
With one of the hottest prospects in the 2026 class, Cederian Morgan, short-listing his top six schools, from a hoard of offers Cincinnati, Florida State, Auburn, Mississippi State, Florida, Oregon, Missouri, etc) the spring portal hype seems to be even higher.
Cederian Morgan, the talented wideout prospect, billed at 6-foot-4, 210 lbs, has been one of the most lucrative catches in the entire 2026 recruiting class. According to 247Sports’ composite ranking, he is the No. 3 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 18 overall prospect has largely confused people with his wide recruiting attention. However, as he started to narrow things down, it came off as good news for some and a bad trip for others. So who lands on which side?

The Auburn Tigers have made the four-star kid a huge priority in their key recruitment list. Apart from just hosting official unofficial visits, Tigers’ WRs coach Marcus Davis and HC Hugh Freeze never hesitated to walk that extra mile for Morgan to make a bigger, genuine impression. “They always text me good luck and then they’ll check on me after every game,” Morgan said. “To make sure that we still stay connected.” But while the Tigers lead the pack, they are not alone. Alabama is right on the track as well as a chunk of analysts predict him to stay home.
Alabama seems to be in a prime position to land Cederian Morgan
Alabama and Kalen DeBoer have been on a high-flying recruiting trail, setting up twenty-plus official visits this summer. However, very few can match the level of excitement of hosting Morgan for the second time on campus.
The elite four-star garnered an Alabama offer while camping in May 2024. Morgan is a rising junior at Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Alabama. So, the home ties are really special over there. Along with edge rusher Anthony Jones, Alabama is going all in pursuing Morgan in the fresh 2026 cycle. If Bama can land the WR, it will be a fun challenge for him to be equipped with new OC Ryan Grubb. However, the strive is not lopsided at all.

“It means a lot,” Morgan told Touchdown Alabama after he received an offer. “It’s a dream come true as an in-state kid. I always watched Alabama growing up, and all of my family members are big Alabama fans. Any time it was a big game, we were the type of family that got together and just watched Alabama. It’s just a dream come true.” Nostalgia can turn the tables at any time.
We will see if Morgan can take the next step of his dream and lock in commitment with the Bama or not when he returns to Tuscaloosa this June.
