Precision breeds monotony; turmoil breeds enthusiasm! CFB is like that. In week thirteen, just as things were starting to make sense, everything fell apart. The SEC is in disarray, big teams are losing, and the rankings are shifting. Penn State and Notre Dame have been vying for a spot in the top four throughout all of this. Right now, Notre Dame is in fifth place, and Penn State is in fourth place. Can Marcus Freeman’s team turn it around with just one week left in the regular season? While an analyst believes it could happen, a college football insider criticizes the program’s easy schedule and path to the CFP.

During their discussion of the week 14 playoff selections on The Ruffino & Joe Show on November 28, Joe DeLeone and Blake Ruffino disclosed two circumstances that could jeopardize Notre Dame’s chances of making the playoffs. According to Blake Ruffino, the first requirement might be to avoid playing in any conference games (0-0). He said, “ I’m trying to make here well if anything you just made an argument here that Notre Dame has a better opportunity to play good football because all of these other teams they’re getting batter Notre names should be relatively fresh they don’t have to play in their conference Championship game.” Despite this, Joe disagreed with Ruffino’s choice.

Ruffino then thought they had an easy schedule after meeting the second requirement pertaining to Notre Dame’s playoff picture. “I say that you played a soft ACC schedule. ” Even though Joe disagrees with Ruffino’s argument, and he stated that first off, Notre Dame has a scheduling arrangement with the ACC, meaning they play seven games against any ACC club, and you play the remaining seven games. As a result, they don’t pick the opponents they play. This is an off-year for Notre Dame, which usually takes a tough stance against the SEC’s concerns about scheduling elite and above-average teams.

According to Ruffino, it just shows that Notre Dame deliberately chooses the simple timetables, while Joe seems to think that the program doesn’t pick its own schedule, thus it’s not entirely intentional. The debate will continue, but here is a general overview of Notre Dame’s present postseason situation.

Notre Dame strengthened its standing after upsetting the Army this week, and it is now prepared to start the rivalry week. Marcus Freeman has now expressed his opinions about the clash of two days prior to the game. However, he is not discounting their opponents because Fighting Irish has a larger goal, which is to make it to the playoffs: “It’s a very competitive, talented football team. It will truly be our biggest challenge to date. The noise and the things outside of this game that have nothing to do with this game, that’s going to be a reason why it’s a challenge. But because of how good this team is, in terms of, in relation to its record,” Marcus stated.

Moreover, he added, referring to the Army game, “It’s gonna be a challenge versus a really good team, and we have to prepare in a way that gives us an opportunity to get the outcome that we want.” The previous time the two teams played, Notre Dame prevailed 48–20. This Saturday, will they continue to demolish them and advance to the national championship? Let’s wait and watch.
