Bryce Underwood’s flip from the LSU Tigers is the hot topic of the college football world right now. And why not? After all, the 17-year-old was the priciest Jewel in Brian Kelly‘s 2025 class. But looking at LSU’s current scenario, it was already predicted he would flip. The young guy stirred the pot by flipping his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines. You know, a Michigan alum and football legend, Tom Brady, was also involved in his flip! Yeah, they discussed this on several occasions, and now you can see the results. Well, that’s not a brand new piece of news, and Kelly must have moved away from it. However, if Underwood pressures his long-time buddy Derek Meadows to give him company, that could be a nightmare for Kelly!
Yeah, it’s not some sort of thing that’s just on the surface. College football analysts are predicting that Kelly is about to have another strike by Derek Meadows, a possible flip who committed to the program on July 20, 2024. As per the latest information coming
from Michigan Sports Talk’s latest episode, two SEC teams are trying to lure his commitment away from LSU.ADVERTISEMENT

“Some more good news on Derek Meadows, the 2025 four-star, top 100 wide receiver, current LSU commit. Sam Levitt, Michigan insider to put in the crystal ball prediction now. Alabama has been making a late push for Derek Meadows. It now appears that that is Michigan’s major threat in this recruitment, but it’s still looking good for Michigan. And obviously Bryce Underwood, you know, he is going to convince Meadows as much as possible to join him here in the 2025 class. He wants Meadows in this class; he even asked Michigan coaching staff if there is room for Meadows and also DJ Pickett, and obviously Michigan said yes.”
After a few weeks, Derek also walked Underwood’s path and started his hunt for a suitable place. Now, the Michigan Wolverines are the top candidate, so keep an eye on him. The Michigan guys got a lot of big NIL bucks. It was evident as they grabbed Underwood’s commitment. Buying another prospect will not be a big deal for them.
Derek is 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds and is rated as the No. 1 prospect in Nevada. He’s among the elite top 10 wide receivers of the 2025 class. All the excitement kicked off when the talented wide receiver drove to Ann Arbor on November 2 to catch Michigan’s game against Oregon. After that game, it was pretty clear how tight he was with the program, adding to the fact that he shared strong family ties with this place as his family lived in Michigan.
What adds more intrigue to his commitment is his closeness with Bryce Underwood. And as the Michigan sports reports talked about, Underwood is already trying hard to make a spot in Michigan’s 2025 class from Derek Meadows. Besides that, they talk about another SEC team, Alabama. If Alabama is also in this race, we can’t say if the WR rolls with the Tide!

Can Michigan's NIL power sway Derek Meadows away from LSU and Alabama?
Have an interesting take?
After Michigan, what’s the next obvious option for Derek Meadows?
As per the latest reports of On3 recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong, the Alabama Crimson Tide is also in a rush to get Derek Meadows’ commitment. So what’s next for the nation’s 119-ranked overall player in his class?
For your information, the WR was already preached by Michigan, Alabama, and Notre Dame before he landed at LSU. He ditched them all, but given LSU’s reality in the season, Derek is open to new options. Before the season, Derek has visited Bama twice, once in March and then in June. So Alabama has already developed good terms with him,m and it is not a surprise if the WR changes his mind in favour of the Bama.
