Well, the Texas and Ohio State fans already had to give a test of loyalty. After all, they had to leave their cozy homes and travel all the way to the AT&T stadium in Arlington which now stands tall amidst an icy backdrop. As per the reports, a cold snap has brought snow, sleet, and freezing temperatures. Already schools have closed in North Texas in recent days. On January 10, Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic came up with a tweet. The caption read, “Pregame like a champion at the 2025 @CFBPlayoff Semifinal at the 89th #GoodyearCottonBowl Classic. #LikeNoOther.” The snaps that followed must definitely give FOMO to the fans who chose to remain cocooned in their cozy living rooms. The pictures showed O’Neal dressed in all black sporting a cowboy hat. A close-up picture showed him in control of a DJ console.
The tunes that he dropped were enough to ward off the fans’ worries about the incoming Cotton Bowl result. A snap showed O’Neal with his hand high in the air flaunting a rock sign, coming off in flying colors as a party starter. So now the NBA legend knows how he made the right decision by not staying in his home after retirement.

Shaquille O’Neal’s transition to a new passion
O’Neal is no longer known only as the NBA legend. He has created an identity for himself. Fans now know him as DJ Diesel. Now you need to be a braveheart to try something new after retirement. Even more so when you already have been an established personality in your own field. O’Neal is also a sports analyst, but that did not surprise the fans as most of the retired players try their hand in that role. But being a DJ is something that helped him to connect with his passion at 52.
As O’Neal claimed, his second life as a DJ has offered him a similar feeling to what he once experienced as a professional basketb- -l player. In an interview with PEOPLE, the ex-LSU phenom confessed, “I started DJing because it gives me the same adrenaline boost that a championship game would give me.”

Like every other individual, Shaquille O’Neal too was left at the crossroads while taking his next step thinking about doing something with a purpose. “I was lost because I had planned to retire two years after I retired. So I wasn’t really prepared,” shared the legend. But who would say that he is a novice DJ? Cotton Bowl is not the first event that he took part in as a DJ and not as a sports tycoon. He had been the heart of the evening at the Sports Illustrated LIV Golf Experience in Dallas on September 21st as DJ Diesel. That’s how Shaq’s Midas touch turns every venture into gold.
