The crash report obtained by WBZ said that fire firefighters pulled Hurley out of his vehicle, sort of in and out of consciousness, had a large cut on his face, unresponsive but was breathing,” he said.

Moscona points out that the word ‘unresponsive’ might sound a bit “jarring,” but it basically means he was drifting in and out of consciousness at the time. For now, officials don’t believe impairment was a factor in the accident. LSU hasn’t said anything official yet, but later that Thursday, Hurley’s family released a statement saying he’s “resting and stable” while getting treatment. They express confidence in the 17-year-old’s full recovery, and fans eagerly await his comeback and his quest for the backup QB role at LSU.
