Deion Sanders Jr. making waves off the field—Is he outshining his dad's legacy in a new way?

We all gotta check back on the “favorite son” debate again. Deion Sanders Jr. has been the anomaly in the Sanders family. While both Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders decided to follow in Deion Sanders’ footsteps, Bucky (Deion Jr.) decided he wanted something different. This gave rise to the magic of social media around the Buffs. When Coach Prime took over the team, the Buffs had nothing. Using Deion Jr.’s talents and social media understanding, Coach Prime and the Buffs were catapulted into internet fame. Everyone has the Buffs on the tip of their tongue.

So, it ain’t no wonder why Deion Sanders jumps in yet again on September 24th to sing praises of his eldest son. “The MVP & MVS ! @deionsandersjr YouTube Well Off Media!!!!! Love ya son! You are the absolute best at what u do,” Coach Prime wrote in the caption of his latest post on Instagram. Well Off Media has been making quite the noise during the 2024 CFB season. While most people tune into ESPN or CBS Sports for their coverage, Buffs fans always go for Deion Jr.’s YouTube videos. The last few videos on the channel have consistently managed to garner 100-300k videos.

What’s kind of funny about the entire scene is that back on September 20th, we covered an episode of the Colorado Football Coaches Show. Coach Prime specifically said, “All my sons are different, so it’s a different level of love I have to give them,” when he was asked who his ‘favourite son’ is. However, that looks like a lie now and we won’t really be surprised why. See, you can hate the Buffs or love them, but you cannot deny the fact that they probably are the most entertaining team in the entire CFB.

And most of that credit should go to Deion Sanders Jr. Starting with Well Off Media to focus on game coverage and highlights from the locker room, Bucky has expanded his portfolio to other channels like Reach The People and Thee Pregame Show. Every single channel focuses on a different topic and allows the fan to have a 360-degree understanding of what’s going on with Coach Prime and his boys.

If that wasn’t enough, Bucky also handles the entire “photo shoot” department as well. If you don’t see him running around the sidelines with his phone out and recording everything, you will find him with his professional camera catching snips of Deion Sanders or the rest of the boys on the Buffs roster. However, one thing you gotta keep in mind about this guy is that he ain’t no ‘yes-man’.

Deion Sanders Jr. doesn’t shy away from doing the right thing

Have an interesting take?

CU and its players have had a longstanding history of dealing with parking issues. The university has often failed to provide proper parking spots during games and also has failed to provide the players with proper leeway. Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders have both been victims of this and have incurred multiple parking tickets. So, back on July 9th, Bucky was done dealing with it.

Back on his Instagram story, Bucky went on a fiery rant, ripping apart the CU administration. “Y’all closed this entire garage? it’s like 200-300 parking spots,” Bucky mentioned as he drove around the parking spots looking for a place. He continued to explain how this unnecessary closing down of the garages leads to cars being towed away or getting a parking ticket.

Boy, oh boy, did this entire thing pay off. On July 28th, during a meeting with the entire roster, we saw Boulder Interim police chief, Steve Redford, himself come and try to cool off the situation. “We want you here playing games, being successful. My message to you is we want you to feel welcome here,” Redford mentioned. While we are yet to see any proper initiative being taken up, you gotta give it up for Bucky and his entire callout.

And as CU figures out a way to solve its parking woes, why don’t you lock in for the latest EssentiallySports Think Tank interview with Doug Sanders?
