In fact, Dylan is thrilled to see his younger brother following in his family’s legacy and has been vocal about his pride and admiration for Dayton. Well, it’s sure a heartwarming moment for any big brother to watch their sibling excel in the same field.

Well, considering the fact that the younger Raiola was long being approached for Nebraska, this was not a shocker. The Huskers have been approaching the 6 foot 10 and 210 lbs QB for two years, even when Dayton Raiola was a freshman playing in Arizona. It looks like it took time for him to decide, but Nebraska was his only fav choice because of his family history.
The young QB not only has his elder brother on the team but also his uncle offensive lineman coach Donovan Raiola and father Dominic Raiola, a former Nebraska lineman and NFL legend. However, Dayton is currently playing for Buford High School. Even his elder brother, Dylan, played on the same team before completing his high school career. But is it only because of the family history, or is there something else behind Dayton’s decision to commit to the Huskers? Let’s see what he has to say about the whole thing.
Dayton Raiola’s reason for joining the Huskers
Dayton Raiola is officially a Husker now. After the announcement in his recent interview with Husker Max, Dayton revealed the reason behind his choosing the team, saying, “I feel like I would be making a mistake if I didn’t go to Nebraska.” The young quarterback also talked about the comfort he felt on his every visit to the team, saying, “On top of my brother and uncle being there, my sister works in recruiting there now, and my dad was an All-American there. The coaching staff at Nebraska really has shown me real love, and I can feel it every time I go up there.” Looks like Matt Rhule’s charm has won over Dayton Raiola, beyond the family connection.
In addition, Dylan has emphasized the significance of family, and Dayton shares a similar sentiment by choosing the Huskers. “I mean, how many times does somebody get to play with their brother on the same team, yet alone I get to do it twice?” said younger Raiola while discussing Dylan Raiola and him playing on the same team. Sure it will be interesting to watch two brothers fighting for their team in the coming years.
