Can Miller Moss rise to the occasion and prove he's the leader USC needs right now?

However, head coach Lincoln Riley expects their starting players and special scout team players to perform well in the upcoming games. To ensure competitiveness among his players, Riley brought in some tactics.

Riley wants his players to take their game to the next level. He expressed that Moss needs to practice along with scout team players to improve his skill set. According to him, Moss will continue to grow by playing in different situations in these games. With each passing game, he’ll come out as a better player. Fans are hoping for the Trojans’ solid comeback after last year’s bummer. Lincoln Riley is trying his best to make that happen. Changing captains for a new week and scouting team players every week might help them achieve that.

To ensure better performance in the team and generate internal rivalry, which will benefit the Trojans’ action in the 2024 season. USC insider Ahmad Akkaoui revealed the names of the players that the Trojans announced were chosen ahead of the game against Utah.

Ahmad Akkaoui’s tweet reads, “From USC’s game notes ahead of Saturday’s matchup with Utah State: Each week, head coach Lincoln Riley will honor three Scout Team Players of the Week. He explained Riley’s idea to encourage players by giving them the respective honors.

After which he mentioned the names of the players who got named for their last week’s performance. His tweet reads, “For this week, Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week is QB Dylan Gebbia, Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week is S Brandon Shepherd and Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Week is LB Garrett Pomerantz. Scout team players play a big role in strengthening the starting players so they can play efficiently during upcoming matches. They act as opposite team players in practice sessions to help players learn to beat them in the actual game. Apart from that, Riley also praised Moss for his play.

Miller Moss began with a hot start in the season opener. This season he will be filling the shoes of former QB Caleb Williams, who was a key player for the Trojans. No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2024, Miller Moss completed 27 out of 36 passes while running for 378 yards during the Trojans’s last Saturday game against the Tigers.
