USC is gearing up for a 2025 takeover. Already locked and loaded with 5-star QB Husan Longstreet headlining the next wave of offense, Lincoln Riley has plenty of weapons at his disposal. Dynamic receivers Makai Lemon and Ja’Kobi Lane are already set to be key contributors. But why stop there? The Trojans have a chance to add even more firepower, and this time, it could be at the expense of a conference rival.
Lincoln Riley is being advised to keep a close tab on WR Jurrion Dickey, a former 5-star recruit who’s been underplayed by Dan Lanning at Oregon. If the Ducks aren’t ready to unleash him, the Trojans might. Despite being the No. 2 WR and the No. 3 player in the state of California in the 2023 recruiting cycle, Dickey never got the momentum he was seeking in Eugene. So it’s not surprising when calls for Lincoln Riley to target this California native surfaced in ROC Boys Football on February 10. “Maybe go out and bet on some high upside in the wide receiver room in a guy like Jurrion Dickey.”

USC v Michigan

Jurrion Dickey could be an explosive complement for Husan Longstreet who is regarded as having “arguably the strongest arm in the 2025 cycle.” He was a highly-touted prospect with offers from several programs like Georgia, Tennessee, and USC among others. “Really good wide receiver room for Oregon. Really just hasn’t gotten on the football field. He’s one of the biggest mysteries in all of college football,” the source stated. But the reason for his fallout in college football stemmed from his senior HS injury that limited his production to just 20 receptions for 453 yards and six touchdowns.

Despite being the highest-rated for Oregon in 2023, Dickey’s torn meniscus injury followed him to college, where he missed out on his freshman season. Even after redshirting, he couldn’t crack Oregon’s loaded receiver rotation in 2024. The result? Just one reception for seven yards in two seasons, per ESPN.
If his role in Oregon remains stagnant, USC could jump in for a win-win situation. As the source added, “Now going into year three, if he’s still not slated to play a big role in this Oregon wide receiver and if you’re Lincoln Riley in USC and he wants to hit the portal, say, wouldn’t mind betting on some upside here.” And now that USC has brought in Notre Dame’s Chad Bowden, recruitment could take the upper hand.

Will Jurrion Dickey make the move?
For now, Jurrion Dickey hasn’t announced any plans about entering the transfer portal. But if he does, USC could be the first in line with the entry of Chad Bowden as the Trojans’ GM, who compiled three top-15 recruiting classes for the Fighting Irish. The Trojans currently rank at No. 15 in the 2025 recruiting class with 24 commits and 11 transfers. But they could haul in more transfers during the spring portal. And it doesn’t matter if they’re immediate starters; for USC, depth matters.
Lincoln Riley made this notion clear, and it’s part of Bowden’s vision—“One of his biggest goals—our biggest goals—with this was to allow our coaches to coach more. I know, as crazy as it sounds, a lot of our coaches get pulled in so many different directions… Whatever strengths people bring to the table, you want to accentuate those as much as you possibly can.” This could mean giving Dickey the shot he never got at Oregon—whether as an impact player or a depth piece behind Lemon and Lane.

Either way, it’s a move that could pay off for USC in Riley’s fourth season at the helm. So will Jurrion Dickey trade in Oregon green for USC cardinal and gold? If he does, the Trojans might have just found their next WR reclamation project.
