The Indiana Hoosiers. Probably one of the biggest surprises of the season, Curt Cignetti and Co. are standing strong with an amazing 7-0 record under their belt. The team has managed to dismantle any opponent that was unfortunate enough to cross paths with the offense and defense Curt Cignetti has formulated. He-k takes the Huskers as an example. They were one of the strongest teams in terms of defense and still, the Hoosiers managed to bring in 56 points!!
In just a few hours, the team will be going up against the Huskies, and while you might think that Cignetti has a lot of pressure on him, it’s not true. See, if you have been following ESPN Game Day this season, you’d know that host Lee Corso (also former Hoosiers coach) has a tradition. Whenever he makes a prediction on which team is gonna win, he dresses up as the mascot of the said team. But here is the problem; Indiana doesn’t have a mascot. Back on X, Mark Schumann mentioned in his post, “Over 400 times Lee Corso has made his Gameday prediction by dressing as the team’s mascot. But there’s just one problem if/when he picks #iufb tomorrow — there’s no mascot.”

Now, the thing is, Corso is in a pickle. He has to either follow his signature GameDay ritual or he has to play by the books and not go with a mascot for the IU vs Huskies game. You might wonder why Indiana doesn’t have a mascot. Well, it wasn’t always the case.
The camp had about 16 different renditions, but none of them managed to stand the test of time. Some of the most iconic ones were “Mr. Hoosier Pride” and the Bison mascot. But, either it didn’t go well with the overall values of the camp, or there were some economic problems. So, IU took the safe route and removed the mascots altogether.
The best option for Corso right now would be the Indiana headgear. It is the same, has the team logo on and the primary colors as well. It cannot go wrong. However, while we leave Corso to make his decision between his alma mater and the game ritual, there is one serious topic we gotta talk about.
Hoosiers are on a run for the playoffs

7 wins. A few more and Curt Cignetti and Co are in. With the win over the Huskers, the offense has already solidified itself as one of the best. Hoosiers are now No.1 on the Big 10 with 512 average yards per game along with 48.7 points average per game.
But there are 2 problems. Back on ESPN Kickoff, Heather Dinich pointed out 2 issues that could derail the Hoosiers from their playoff run. The first one is the starting QB injury. Against Huskers, Kurtis Rourke was sidelined because of a nail bed injury. Going into the Huskies showdown, Cignetti won’t have access to Rourke and his skills. That could be a problem unless Tayven Jackson manages to pull off some magic.
Jackson will be the starting quarterback of this game, and this dude has already shown his potential when he was put on that turf against the Huskers after Rourke pulled off. 2 touchdowns and 7 completed passes. With the correct “masala” between Jackson and the WRs, Curt Cignetti can pull out the perfect dish.

Now, the second problem for the Hoosiers will be Ryan Day. Beating the Buckeyes will be a massive task. Day has got a ‘make-or-break’ roster, and he is not afraid of using it. This, paired with Chip Kelly‘s play calling, would mean that the Buckeyes will do everything to get a one-up over the Hoosiers’ defense. For now, let’s see if Cignetti and Co. and pull a W against the Huskies.
