EA Sports botched Travis Hunter's Heisman pose—Is this a sign of declining quality in sports games?

Travis Hunter is the man of the hour in the world of college football. After an enchanting performance against the UCF Knights on 29th September, all eyes are on the Colorado prodigy to win the Heisman Trophy at the end of this season. Ranging from critics like Stephen A. Smith to Paul Finebaum, who were earlier staunch critics of Travis Hunter and the Colorado Buffaloes, have all turned coats to accept that the team is a true contender for the conference title this year. While the Colorado Buffaloes are used to the hype train’, the performance of Hunter has compelled the community to board the ‘praise train’, especially for the number 12 player. Boarding this train is EA Sports, who made the effort to compliment the youngster with a grand gesture but didn’t receive a warm reception at the hands of the fans.

On 1st October, EA Sports College took to Instagram to reveal a surprisingly new ‘Heisman-Trophy’ celebration being added to the College Football 25 game as a tribute to the celebration he threw on 29th September after making the monumental interception. The victory emote certainly caught the eyes of the fans, but not in the way that the organisation expected. The fans spammed the comments with laughing emojis and comments on how such a professional company couldn’t portray an accurate representation of the player.

A fan wrote, “Bro fix his hair 😂” which was the collective opinion of the entire fan base that started to troll EA for their misinterpretation of Hunters’ appearance.

Though it’ll be a delight for the fans to hit the same celebration as Hunter did a few days ago, in the game itself, EA certainly didn’t take their time with the proper hairdo of the two-way athlete and are now being bashed for it. Here’s a look at the other comments that joined the mockery against EA Sports.

The fans make EA Sports a laughing stock after their botched Hunter celebration

Travis Hunter has found himself a mountain of newfound fame ever since that superhuman interception against the Knights. So much so, that the fans were unruly and personally upset when EA made him look like some random player by messing up his short hair.

This fan wrote, “Update his hair” and joined the swarm of supporters who are lunging for the throat of EA Sports.

Next, this user couldn’t hold in his laughter and couldn’t comprehend the long dreadlocks on Hunter’s hair and wrote, “Still don’t understand why his hair is so fuckin long 😂😂😂😂😂”

Another fan pointed out the major mistake of ES by making it a dreadlock hairstyle and wrote, “He doesn’t even have dreads like that”

Lastly, this person called out EA for not giving this character of Travis enough attention and being lazy about their gesture. The comment read, “They just gave him the generic dreads player look and called it Travis Hunter lol”

It is evident that Travis Hunter is a pivotal player in today’s generation who is looked on to by a generation of younger athletes. As such, EA was walking on thin ice when they chose to pay tribute to Hunter, and with the unfamiliar hairstyle, they seem to have cracked through the ice.
