Jaxson Dart is making a lot of waves in the post-combine mock drafts. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we see the 21-year-old going as a first-round pick on April 25th. Dart possesses a ton of experience after starting 41 of the 45 games he played at USC and Ole Miss. In four seasons, the Ole Miss QB threw for 11,970 yards, 81 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions. Last season for the Rebels, Dart pulled in a career-high 69.3% of his passing attempts. He had 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns, and six interceptions. The NFL stage is ready. The teams aren’t going to sleep on Lane Kiffin’s former QB1. But wait, the standout QB phenom doesn’t forget to live his life away from all the lure of fame and the weight of responsibility on the field. And guess who can’t appreciate it more?
The Rebels’ head coach’s son, Knox Kiffin. Dart, 21, shares a very adorable and friendly bond with coach Lane Kiffin. Kiffin has always been the strongest advocate for Dart and vice versa. But the bond transcends two individuals and spreads inside their family. Kiffin has also extended an offer to Diesel Dart, Jaxson Dart’s younger brother, a 2027 wide receiver prospect from Canyon High School in Utah. His potential arrival can carry forward the Dart legacy at Oxford. On the other hand, Kiffin’s son, Knox Kiffin, an aspiring quarterback, is vehemently following the crown jewel of the program, Jaxson Dart, like a younger brother. The graph is quite grappling. But for now, it’s Knox and Dart who are ruling the conversation.
Amidst the constant NFL preparation and the stock improvement, Jaxson Dart, like any other A-lister QB in the mix, didn’t get much time to unwind all by himself, a much-needed way to recharge for the next hectic chapter in his career. However, he has done his part for now. It’s in the hands of NFL coaches and scouts. The break, if we can call it that, gives Dart time for personal fun. As has been the case with him, he didn’t forget to share it with the fans. How? Through an Insta photo dump. The dozens of photos include snaps from his travelogue. They also feature a fun stadium outing with Michigan TE Colston Loveland. Then, there are some solo shots. Appreciating his highly sophisticated outfits, Knox Kiffin made a bonhomous plea: “Got formal on me.”

Knox Kiffin, the high school freshman and the 2028 QB prospect for Kiffin’s squad, has already faced a lot of competition with the reigning QB Jaxson Dart. Fans are asking him to throw better deep balls than Dart when the Rebels fell flat on their CFP hope after a tragic loss against Florida. However, the 15-year-old made it clear that he has little interest in playing under his father; rather, he wants to face him from the other side of the fence. But regardless of which team Knox plays for, that is not likely to shake his friendship with Dart.
Moving back to the blue-chip Ole Miss talent, his recent aura flex has been outright motivating to his large fan base. The quiet yet classy Instagram photo dump almost seems like a calm-before-the-storm condition. The storm here definitely means his growing NFL stock and the inevitable fate of a frontrunner team within a month.

Jaxson Dart looks like a wildcard entry to the NFL first-round pick projection
ESPN analyst Mike Greenberg predicted the 2025 NFL draft would feature four first-round quarterbacks, with Jaxson Dart entering the charts after Mel Kiper keeps him in his top 10 list ahead of Quinn Ewers. Greenberg thinks Dart can easily wind up as a second quarterback pick after Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. Kiper, however, predicts he goes ninth to the New Orleans Saints. Why Saints? Well, new coach Kellen Moore might be keen to develop him into a more finished product behind Derek Carr.

Is Jaxson Dart the next big thing in the NFL, or just another overhyped college star?

All this buzz started from the combine. Dart showcased a great showdown at Indianapolis, flipping the script of being a late-round pick. The Athletic suggested that two NFL teams “strongly” feel Dart might be taken during the “top half” of the first round. But that’s not it.
ESPN’s Field Yates also joined the crowd to heap praise on Dart during a post-combine episode of ESPN’s “SportsCenter.” Explaining the root cause of the sudden, unprecedented hype, Yates went on, “I think it’s Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss, who broke Eli Manning’s school record for passing yards this past season. He’s got a ton of experience. He began his college career at USC, finished up at Ole Miss, and had a brilliant game to cap his college career against Duke in the bowl game. Good athlete; he can throw on the run as well. It’s going to be a transition because the offense he played at Ole Miss does not look a whole lot like most NFL offenses.”

Well, it’s true that Dart needs to make a big jump to adjust to the pro setup. Still, with big numbers, head-turning talent, priceless experience, and, of course, indomitable willpower, he can bridge the gap.
